Jerry's 90th Birthday Party soon became a telethon of happiness as the Friars evening unfolded.  The pledges given to Jerry Lewis were of love and respect and they came from his fellow Friars and entertainers jam packed into the Frank Sinatra Dining Room.  The amount of laughs in the club even created a new total of hysterics for an institution that has been the home of much laughter during its storied show biz history.

The Crested Butte Music Festival (CBMF) announced its 20th Season today. To celebrate the anniversary, the CBMF will debut a new venue, the Mt. Crested Butte Mirror Palace. One of only four such structures in the continental United States, this “Spiegeltent” will be nestled in the majestic mountains of Mt. Crested Butte. Audience members from around the world will be able to experience world-class music, educational programming, and exceptional food & beverage in this magical venue.

NJTV, New Jersey's public television network, and the New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC)  presented the first performance of the American Songbook at NJPAC series and BroadwayWorld was there. Performances will be taped before a live audience in NJPAC's Victoria Theater on Sunday, October 25 and Monday, October 26 for broadcast on NJTV, WLIW and THIRTEEN next year.

I'm all for a tribute to a wonderful composer such as Stephen Schwartz. But the new musical 'Snapshots' currently playing at Village Theatre feels less like a tribute and more like theft. OK, maybe theft is too strong of a word since Schwartz is aware of the show and has given his blessing but it's definitely appropriating someone else's good works with not much new to say.

There is an additional 4 p.m. show on March 15. The March 21 will be sign language interpreted by students of the CCBC Catonsville American Sign Language Certification program. Show tickets are $10.
