Arizona Theatre Company Announces New Year's Eve Special Event
Bring in the new year with a full evening of entertainment that includes champagne and chocolate, Stephen Schwartz's new musical comedy, Snapshots, and a great dinner at one of two of downtown Phoenix's most talked-about restaurants.
Arizona Theatre Company's memorable New Year's Eve package at the Herberger Theater Center features the pre-show champagne and chocolate reception from 6:30-7:30 p.m., tickets to Snapshots from the creator of Wicked and Godspell, and dinner before the show at either Bliss/ReBar, 905 N. 4th St., or Province Restaurant at the Westin Phoenix Downtown Hotel, 333 N. Central Ave. Dinner seatings are scheduled at 5, 5:15 and 5:30 p.m. at Bliss ReBar and at 5 and 5:30 p.m. at Province.
Dinner packages start at $101. Tickets for the performance and pre-show reception range from $71 to $87. Add $30 per person for dinner at Bliss/ReBar or $35 for dinner at Province.
Province package includes valet parking and the following menu options: Appetizer: soup of the day, house salad or seasonal toast; Entrée Choices: braised beef short rib, Tillamook cheddar grits, reduced pan sauce; or pan-seared striped sea bass, red quinoa, braised leeks, crispy fennel, rendered pancetta emulsion; or achiote rubbed half chicken, pan-seared skin on breast with slow braised dark meat, sweet potato dumplings, chives, pasilla jus; or roasted vegetable moussaka of seasonal vegetables served over red quinoa, beluga lentils with mozzarella cheese.
The Bliss/ReBAR menu for New Year's Eve includes: Appetizer: golden beet salad, over baby spinach, toasted almonds, cherry tomatoes, pomegranates, warm goat cheese fritter; Entrée Choices: 6oz airline chicken breast or 6oz sirloin? served with black peppercorn sauce, red skin mash potatoes and grilled seasonal veggie (vegetarian option available on request.); Dessert: red velvet cake; plus one glass of wine, beer or a specialty cocktail made for the event.
Snapshots is a delightful new musical with a book by David Stern, conceived by Stern and Michael Scheman. A romantic comedy that tells the story of one couple's changing relationship through the years, from their childhood friendship to their waning marriage decades later, Snapshots is appropriate for all audiences. In an innovative new musical format, the show features a score comprised of the work of Schwartz, with 25 songs from 12 beloved shows throughout his career.
