New York Stage Original's TAP KIDS Comes to The Alden in McLean

The McLean Kids Performance Series at The Alden continues on Saturday, Oct. 1, at 8 p.m. with New York Stage Original's production of "Tap Kids," which tells the story of high school students coming of age. Tickets are $20 for the general public and $15 for McLean tax district residents. The theatre is located inside the McLean Community Center at 1234 Ingleside Ave.

Created by choreographer Lisa Hopkins and composer Philip David Stern, the show features a diverse cast of eight skilled tap dancers and tells the story of a group of teenagers in their final months of high school as they come to terms with teenage love, their first big dance, graduation and pending adulthood. Highlights of the show include dancing on lunch trays in the cafeteria, forging friendships over a game of basketball and emotional drama at the school dance. Finally, at graduation, the teens are launched into their futures. The story is told in amazing, high-energy tap routines that astonish both teens and adults.
