Ella es Colombia, a fantasy filled fable that is inspired by the soul of the Colombian people, music, literature and folklore will premiere on August 22, 2018 at the Cafam De Bellas Artes Theater. Under the Direction and Choreography of Broadway's Luis Salgado. This new musical is produced by Maria Isabel Murillo (aka Misi), who also serves as one of the composers.

Puerto Rican artist and Broadway performer Luis Salgado (ROCKY, Women on the Verge...) returns to Latin America after making his European directing debut with ON YOUR FEET as the associate director to Jerry Mitchell. Salgado's production of In The Heights at GALA Theatre in Washington D.C recently took home 9 Helen Hayes awards IncludIng Outstanding Direction and Choreography. He now embarks to South America to direct/choreograph a very special production, ELLA ES COLOMBIA; A fable filled with fantasy that is inspired by the essence of the Colombian people, music, artists and folklore.

Handel knew how to put on a show. With Rinaldo, the first Italian opera written for the London stage, he created a thrilling crowd-pleaser. Rinaldo dazzles with its expressive arias, like the plaintive "Lascia ch'io pianga," one of the most popular soprano arias ever written. Rinaldo's spectacular instrumental writing is unsurpassed, with rousing trumpets, drums, strings, and oboe in the martial aria "Or la tromba" and show-stopping harpsichord pyrotechnics-originally improvised by Handel-in the fiery aria "Vo' far guerra."

Christine Goerke sings her first Elektra at the Met in Patrice Chéreau's landmark production, a sensation at its Met premiere last spring, which the Wall Street Journal called “revolutionary … a triumph on all fronts.” Yannick Nézet-Séguin conducts Strauss's shattering score, a tour de force for the singers and the orchestra alike.

This masterpiece of dazzling vocal fireworks makes a rare Met appearance-its first in nearly 25 years-with Maurizio Benini on the podium. The all-star bel canto cast features Angela Meade in the title role of the murderous Queen of Babylon, who squares off in breathtaking duets with Arsace, a trouser role sung by Elizabeth DeShong. Javier Camarena, Ildar Abdrazakov, and Ryan Speedo Green complete the stellar cast.

The Dallas Opera is thrilled to present—for the first time on our stage—Vincenzo Bellini's suspense-filled masterpiece of the bel canto repertoire, NORMA, starring the phenomenal South African-born soprano Elza van den Heever in the title role of a Druid priestess wronged by the man she loves.

R.Evolucion Latina's upcoming production, BOUNTIFUL: A Teachers Journey received a special visit from Sergio Trujillo.  

Matthew Steffens is one of the nine uniquely brilliant choreographers of BOUNTIFUL: A Teacher's Journey, R.Evolucion Latina's 2016 Choreographers Festival. He has served as the associate choreographer for the Broadway production of Doctor Zhivago and of the Off-Broadway immersive hit Queen of the Night. Matthew has performed on Broadway in Promises, Promises and Women on the Verge of A Nervous Breakdown and now he is starring in R.Evolucion Latina's (RL) new production. 

CSULB Theatre Arts Department and California Repertory Company are thrilled to present Caryl Churchill's play FAR AWAY in the newly upgraded University Theatre. The process of returning to the University Theatre began over two years ago and required the concerted efforts of numerous individuals across campus.  

Despite the union battles and season lockout threats, the Metropolitan Opera opened its doors as scheduled on Monday night with Mozart's “Le Nozze di Figaro” conducted by James Levine.
