20/20 to Present Documentary on BTK Serial Killer

One of America's most notorious serial killers, Dennis Rader, known as The BTK Killer, spent decades tormenting Wichita, Kansas. He brutally tortured and murdered 10 people while also taunting the tight-knit community, local media and police with letters detailing his horrific crimes. Now, 14 years after he was caught, his daughter, Kerri Rawson, breaks her silence to ABC News correspondent Deborah Roberts in her first television interview for a “20/20” documentary on Rader. Kerri discusses her childhood, how she and her family dealt with the shocking revelation of her father's true identity and how they have worked to overcome the unthinkable crimes of her father. The two-hour “20/20” documentary airs Friday, Feb. 1 (9:00 – 11:00 p.m. EST), on ABC.

WABC-TV, the flagship Disney|ABC-owned television station in New York, announced that it is once again the most-watched television station in the New York television market and the United States in 2018, finishing the year with a 2.7 rating/7 share in DMA Households from 6 a.m. to 2 a.m. Monday- Sunday for the full calendar year. With an average quarter-hour audience of 237,000 viewers all year long, ABC7 boasts the largest audience of any television station in the nation. WABC also leads the market among local broadcast station websites and has the highest social media engagement.

ABC News' WORLD NEWS TONIGHT WITH DAVID MUIR Is Most Watched Newscast In America

ABC News' “World News Tonight with David Muir” ranked as the No. 1 evening newscast in Total Viewers (8.781 million) the week of Dec. 17, 2018, based on Live + Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research. “World News Tonight” outperformed “NBC Nightly News” (8.430 million) by 351,000, widening its lead from the previous week by 13% (vs. 310,000 for w/o 12/10/18) to a 10-week high – since w/o 10/8/18. “World News Tonight” has won 12 of the 13 weeks of the season in Total Viewers.

20/20 Presents Two-Hour Documentary on Notorious Bobbitt Case

Twenty-five years ago, Lorena Bobbitt's name was splashed across newspaper headlines and television screens nationwide when she was charged with attacking her husband, John Wayne Bobbitt, with a kitchen knife. A two-hour “20/20” documentary reports new details in the infamous case and features a new interview with John, in which he shares new details about the 1993 events, what he went through in the aftermath of the attack and his life now. “20/20” airs on Friday, Jan. 4 (9:00–11:00 p.m. EST), on ABC. The episode kicks off eight weeks of two-hour “20/20” programming featuring brand-new interviews with key players in the biggest newsmaker stories in recent American history. Each documentary takes a look at these cases through a modern lens, challenges original perceptions and sheds new light on each story.

20/20 Has First Interview With Parents Of Shanann Watts After Her Husband Pled Guilty To Murdering Shanann And Two Daughters

Christopher Watts was sentenced to life in prison without parole for murdering his pregnant wife, Shanann, and young daughters Bella and Celeste in Colorado. “20/20” co-anchor Amy Robach sits down for the first interview with Shanann's parents, Frank and Sandra Rzucek, who open up about their daughter, granddaughters and their grief. The pair also discusses their relationship with Chris and the shocking crime that devastated their family. “20/20” reports on Kim Pack's five-year-long fight for justice after her mother, New Jersey radio host April Kauffman, was allegedly murdered by a hit man hired by her husband, Dr. James “Jim” Kauffman. Jim was charged with the murder of April and with allegedly running an illegal drug distribution ring with members of the Pagans Motorcycle Club. Jim's charges came after prosecutor Damon Tyner, appointed to his position in 2017, dug into the cold case of April's murder. “20/20” has been following the case for years and features new details on a break in the case that occurred just last month when Ferdinand “Freddy” Augello, a member of the Pagans, was found guilty of April's murder, conspiracy to commit murder and with leading the drug ring. “20/20” investigates the tumultuous and allegedly emotionally abusive relationship of 18-year-old Riley Gaul and 16-year-old Emma Walker that turned deadly when she was shot in her sleep. ABC News correspondent Deborah Roberts reports the story's bizarre details, including Riley's claim he accidentally killed Emma after firing a gun in an attempt to scare her into getting back together with him.
