The 92nd Street Y, New York (92NY), one of New York's leading cultural venues, presents Sharon Isbin, guitar & Pacifica Quartet play Boccherini, Schwantner, and more, on November 12, 2022 at 7:30pm ET at the Kaufmann Concert Hall.

The accompanying seven-song soundtrack Flying Lotus Presents: Music From The Hit Game Show Ozzy’s Dungeon is out now on Warp Records. Reflecting the tone of “Ozzy’s Dungeon,” which takes place on the set of a children’s game show in the ‘90s, the soundtrack plays with the grainy, lo-fi aesthetics of the era.

 Following the success of September's Festival O22 presentation of live opera productions alongside opera films, “redefining opera on stage and screen” according to the Wall Street Journal, Opera Philadelphia will bring its renowned films to five regional movie theaters, offering audiences an opportunity to appreciate the intersection of two art forms.

Boston film fans have ample reason to rejoice this November, as the area's two iconic art house cinemas—Cambridge's The Brattle Theatre and Brookline's Coolidge Corner Theatre—unveil a thrilling lineup of film noir in celebration of “Noirvember.”

O22, as Opera Philadelphia's festival was called this year, wasn’t exactly “something old, something new” but more like big fat sandwich cookie. On one side, there was a kind of “traditional” contemporary opera, Hosokawa’s THE RAVEN , a big filling of Rossini’s OTELLO opera seria in the middle, and finished with the Little-Waldman BLACK LODGE, a rock opera that was half ear-blasting concert performed live, half film.

Nathan Frizzell's Queer Radio Hour, the Halloween Edition plays for one-night-only October 12th at Dynasty Typewriter. Tom DeTrinis directs this old radio show spoof with a cast of Joe Conti, Drew Droege, Nathan Frizzell, Tommy Hobson, Mitch Silpa, Cloie Wyatt Taylor, David Tran, and drag legend Sherry Vine. Soho Rep will present Montag, written by Kate Tarker, directed by Dustin Wills and with original opera music by Daniel Schlosberg. The world premiere production of Montag runs October 12–November 13 at Soho Rep.

The American Film Institute announced today it will confer a Doctorate of Fine Arts degree honoris causa for contributions of distinction to the art of the moving image upon Michelle Yeoh, who will become the first Asian artist to receive the AFI honor; and a Doctorate of Communication Arts degree honoris causa upon AFI Trustee Emeritus Lawrence Herbert for his commitment to the mission of the American Film Institute.
