By:

Performance Network Theatre extends the Pay-What-You-Can Thursday discount to all Thursday performances during the entire run of Good People. Ten Pay-What-You-Can tickets will be made available the day of the show for each Thursday performance and will be distributed on a first-come-first-serve basis now through March 31st, 2013. Tony Nominee for Best Play in 2011, Good People is a story of a mother's reality in the 21st century in the "Southie" District of Boston. To claim Pay-What-You-Can Thursday tickets, please call the box office the day of the show at 734-663-0681 - the box office opens at 10am on Thursdays. Limit two tickets per person.

Good People by Pulitzer Prize Winning Playwright David Lindsay-Abaire was named one of the "Top Plays of 2012" by the Huffington Post and has received positive feedback from preview audiences. "I thought it was excellently done and very thought provoking," said a preview audience member. Performance Network Theatre is making this production accessible to all of Southeastern Michigan by awarding Pay-What-You-Can tickets to the first ten orders.

Set in 2009, Good People follows single-mom Margie Walsh as she fights tooth and nail for her daughter after being fired from her job at the Dollar Store by her best friend's son. In the hopes of finding a job, Margie reaches out in desperation to a high school "summer fling" who left the neighborhood to become a doctor. After inviting herself to a chic cocktail party in his lavish home, Margie twists herself into a series of hilariously awkward moments and reveals a secret about their past, putting Margie in the driver's seat for the first time.

Performance Network Theatre's 2012-2013 Great American Theatre Season references a range of productions rooted in American culture and storytelling. Good People is the fourth show of the season showcasing "Southie" Boston, and American culture through the analysis of class and economic divide in the 21st century. Due to the fact Good People is a thought-provoking play about economic struggle and is an examination of our own economic situation; Performance Network Theatre is motivated to make engaging and inspiring art available to a wider audience.
