Sam Willmott & Sam Carner Receive 25th Annual Kleban Prizes for Musical Theatre

The Kleban Foundation is pleased to announce that the 25th annual Kleban Prize for the most promising musical theatre lyricist has been awarded to Sam Willmott and the 25th annual Kleban Prize for the most promising musical theatre librettist has been awarded to Sam Carner. The 2015 prizes will be presented on Monday, June 22, 2015, in a private ceremony (by invitation only) hosted by ASCAP and BMI at ASCAP.

Playhouse South to Present SHREK THE MUSICAL, 5/8-17

Everyone's favorite upside-down fairytale comes to Kettering when Playhouse South presents Shrek the Musical, a song-and dance-filled stage adaptation of the Oscar-winning DreamWorks animated film. Shrek the Musical opens May 8, 2015 and runs through May 17, 2015.

Whidbey Island Center for the Arts steps into the realm of one-act plays with its first ever 'One Act Fest Northwest,' featuring British playwright Peter Shaffer's 'Black Comedy.' The comedy will be the highlight of a festival that will also showcase a handful of published and original one-act plays. The festival is set for tonight, April 10 to 19, 2015.

The Fuddy Collective with the support of inFurnace Theatre is pleased to announce the production of FUDDY MEERS by David Lindsay-Abaire, to be presented on April 30, May 1, 2, 6 - 9, 2015 at 8:00 PM and May 2 and 9, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Theatre Calixa-Lavalle?e (3819 rue Calixa- Lavalle?e, Montre?al, QC). Tickets are $20 general admission and $15 for students, seniors and QDF members, with a 2 for 1 matinee performance on May 2, 2015 at 2:00 PM.

Echo Theater Company to Stage Pair of L.A. Premieres in Rep, 4/25-5/31

The multiple award-winning Echo Theater Company, named "Best Bet for Ballsy Original Plays" by the LA Weekly, continues its 2015 season with two Los Angeles premieres scheduled to run in repertory. Row After Row by Jessica Dickey (The Amish Project) opens on April 25 at 5 p.m., with A Small Fire by Obie Award-winner Adam Bock (The Drunken City, The Receptionist) opening that same evening at 8 p.m. The two plays will continue to run in tandem every weekend through May 31 at the Echo's home in Atwater Village Theatre.
