SHREK Unseats BEAUTY AND THE BEAST as Most-Produced High School Musical in 2013-14

After six consecutive years, Disney's Beauty and the Beast has relinquished its place as the top musical in the annual survey of most-produced titles in United States high school theatres, unseated during the 2013-14 season by another adaptation of an animated anti-hero: Shrek the Musical. Returning to the list, and rounding out the top three, is Godspell, which has seen its popularity rise after a recent Broadway revival and subsequent national tour.

The Square One Theatre Company in Stratford, Connecticut has announced that over three-quarters of its subscribers have already renewed for the theatre's 25th Anniversary Season. Discounted 2014-15 subscriptions to the four-plays (A Walk in the Woods, Stratford Characters, Good People and The Winslow Boy) are currently available for purchase through November 22 (2014).

The Broadway @ series originated at its now-famous home in Provincetown, MA in the summer of 2011. Since that time the series, hosted by SiriusXM radio star and pianist Seth Rudetsky and produced by Mark Cortale, has attracted Broadway's biggest stars, such as Patti LuPone, Audra McDonald, Sutton Foster, Megan Hilty, Cheyenne Jackson, Chita Rivera, and many other marquee names. The series has also now leapt to ongoing seasons in New Orleans, Fort Lauderdale, Los Angeles, the Poconos, Woodstock, NY, Hartford, Detroit, as well as Sydney, Australia and London's West End.
