Performances Start Tonight! Mac Wellman's A CHRONICLE OF THE MADNESS OF SMALL WORLDS

Next Door at New York Theatre Workshop (79 East 4th Street) continues its inaugural season with the New York premiere of Mac Wellman's A Chronicle of the Madness of SmallWorlds, adapted for the stage and directed by Elena Araoz. The production runs in NYTW's newly renovated 65-seat black box space begins performances on January 17. The production is produced and sponsored by Harvey and Kathleen Guion.

Additions Announced To Winnipeg New Music Festival

The Winnipeg New Music Festival's (WNMF) unique relationship with Iceland its innovative composers and their uniquely evocative music has evolved over a number of seasons. This year is the 100th anniversary of an important milestone in Icelandic history: the Danish Icelandic Act, a pivotal point in Iceland's history and journey to independence. In celebration of that event, the 2018 Festival (running Jan. 27-Feb. 2, 2018) presents multiple world premieres by Icelandic composers including a major new work for orchestra and choir by Hilmar rn Hilmarsson on January 31.

United States Artists Awards $2.25 Million

United States Artists (USA) is pleased to announce its 2018 USA Fellows. This year, 45 artists and collectives across nine creative disciplines will receive unrestricted $50,000 cash awards. The Fellowships honor their creative accomplishments and support their ongoing artistic and professional development, however the recipients choose to spend them.

The Joyce Theater Foundation, Inc. Announces Aaron Mattocks New Director Of Programming

Linda Shelton, Executive Director of The Joyce Theater Foundation, Inc., announced today that Aaron Mattocks will take over as Director of Programming, effective February 1, 2018. Mattocks replaces Martin Wechsler, who stepped down at the end of 2017 after 32 years at The Joyce, 22 of those as Director of Programming, helping to transform the organization into the world's leading presenter of dance.

Bang on a Can and The Jewish Museum Present Violinist-Vocalist Iva Bittova

Bang on a Can and the Jewish Museum's 2017-18 concert season, which focuses on pioneering female artists, continues on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at 7:30pm with a performance by Iva Bittov . Bittov is known foremost as a violinist-vocalist whose distinct music blends styles from many global music cultures eastern European folk, western classical, Indian, Middle Eastern, and American rock 'n roll.
