New York City Center has announced their 17th Fall for Dance Festival, their first-ever digital dance celebration! Alicia Graf Mack and David Hallberg will be hosting two programs showcasing the resiliency of extraordinary New York City artists coming together-as we take the first crucial steps to returning to our stage.

World Premieres by Gemma Bond, Darrell Grand Moultrie, Christopher Rudd and Pam Tanowitz are planned for digital release in Autumn 2020, it was announced today by Artistic Director Kevin McKenzie.

Due to ongoing concerns related to COVID-19, Ballet Arizona announced a departure from the company's previously planned 35th Anniversary fall season of main-stage performances. Director's Choice, Giselle and the beloved annual production of The Nutcracker have been removed from the performance calendar and a more digitally focused fall season is planned.

The Australian Ballet today announced the appointment of David Hallberg to succeed current Artistic Director David McAllister who retires in December 2020. David Hallberg is currently The Australian Ballet's Resident Guest Artist and is a Principal Dancer with both American Ballet Theatre and The Bolshoi Ballet, and is Principal Guest Artist with The Royal Ballet. He has been a regular guest artist with The Australian Ballet for ten years.

American Ballet Theatre will celebrate its 80th Anniversary during the 2020 Spring season at the Metropolitan Opera House with the New York Premiere of Alexei Ratmansky's Of Love and Rage, an opening week devoted to both new and historic works from the Company's repertory, and the 40th Anniversary performances of Natalia Makarova's production of La Bayadère. The Spring season was announced today by Artistic Director Kevin McKenzie.

Choreographers Gabrielle Lamb and Laura O'Malley, along with American Ballet Theatre dancers Claire Davison, Zhong-Jing Fang and Sung Woo Han, have been selected to create work for the 2019 ABT Incubator, a two-week choreographic workshop providing a focused lab to inspire new choreographic voices and generate ideas for the creation of new work. Thoughtful. Provocative. Exciting. Moving. Hilarious. This is how I would sum up Program C of Ballet Festival, performed at The Joyce Theater last Thursday night, August 15, 2019. Curated by Jean-Marc Puissant, the program consisted of three classical and contemporary pieces, diverse in both emotional and technical truths. Additionally, the caliber of dancing on this particular evening was superb–and not just because of the quality of the dancers themselves, but also because of their impeccable timing and synchronicity. Everybody was truly on their game.

Two of the world's most highly prized ballet dancers, Russian born Natalia Osipova and South Dakota born David Hallberg joined their talents to perform at New York City Center on April 3-6, 2019.
