Buffalo's Alleyway Theatre has announced the recipient of the 2022 Maxim Mazumdar New Play Award. Playwright T. Adamson will receive the annual award for his play, THE NATURAL HORSE.

Following productions at PlayMakers Rep, Milagro/Confrontation Theatre, and Actor's Express, Jump by Charly Evon Simpson concludes its Roll with Shrewd Productions (September 13 - 29, 2019).

In the whimsically theatrical world of Jump, lights flicker, hearts heal, and a young woman finds solace on a bridge. At once heartbreaking, hilarious, and hopeful, Jump is about the connections we share - with family, with friends, with strangers - the connections that bind us together, and lead us into the unknown.

National New Play Network, the alliance of professional theaters that collaborate in innovative ways to develop, produce, and extend the life of new plays, held its annual benefit Monday night at The Vineyard's Dimson Theatre in New York City. In addition to a staged reading of Audrey Cefaly's Alabaster, Charly Evon Simpson's Jump was celebrated as the inaugural recipient of The David Goldman Fund for New American Plays. 

Shake and Bake: Love's Labour's Lost, a production of Shakespeare's comedy that serves its audience an eight-course tasting menu as the play unfolds, will play its final performance on Sunday, January 6, 2019. Featuring direction by Dan Swern (The Eleventh Hour) and movement by Victoria Rae Sook (Grease), Shake and Bake: Love's Labour's Lost began performances on October 2, 2018 at a custom-built performance space at 94 Gansevoort Street (across from the Whitney Museum) and officially opened on October 13, 2018 for a limited run through January 6. At the time of its final performance, Shake and Bake: Love's Labour's Lost will have played 11 previews and 95 regular performances at 94 Gansevoort Street.
