From 29 November to 9 December the suburban arcade of Watton Plaza in Werribee will be transformed into RED ARCADE, a dream-like world filled with curious characters, live performances, a pop-up gallery and unexpected spaces.

Sometimes you know exactly what to expect based on the synopsis of a play, and sometimes, after leaving the theatre, you got a lot more than you bargained for. With New Light Theater Project's Meaningful Conversation, I definitely received the latter.

Out On Screen's 30th Vancouver Queer Film Festival (VQFF) is pleased to announce its 2018 Visiting Artist in Residence, Indigenous filmmaker Thirza Cuthand along with Local Artists in Residence Jen Sungshine and David Ng of Love Intersections. VQFF also announces today its Festival Spotlights: decolonizing discipline(s): a two-spirit showcase; RISE: Youth Spotlight; Trans Women On Screen Spotlight; and a Spotlight on The Artist. With over 70 films from 15 countries, the Festival will run from August 9-19 at various venues throughout Vancouver.

The season three premiere of BILLIONS was its highest-rated ever, up 23 percent from last year. BILLIONS ranks as the network's No. 2 drama series behind HOMELAND. The announcement was made today by Gary Levine, President of Programming, Showtime Networks Inc.

In celebration of Immigrant Heritage Week, the Immigrant Arts Coalition and Dramatists Guild of America, in collaboration with the National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene (NYTF) will present Staging Our Stories, an interactive panel discussion with playwrights, composers, and lyricists on heritage and diversity in theatre. Dr. Barbara Ann Teer's National Black Theatre NBT announces the culminating workshop productions of two I Am Soul Playwriting Resident playwrights, Angelica Ch ri and Derek Lee McPhatter. Ch ri's workshop production, Crowndation: I Will Not Lie David, will be directed by Cezar Williams and star Sheria Irving (Broadway: ROMEO AND JULIET, TV/Film: The Good Wife; Madame Secretary) in a one woman show.

And just like those immigrants who came here with a second chance to live their lives to the fullest, RAGS, the musical that played only four performances on Broadway when it premiered in 1986, has been given a second chance to share the story of the immigrant experience in a new and exciting way on the Goodspeed Opera House stage. And boy what a second chance! Goodspeed's RAGS is a brilliant, heartwarming and powerful tale that everyone should have the chance to experience.

For fifty years, the feverish and fierce art of flamenco guitar has spread like wildfire from Spain to points around the globe, ignited by the late Paco de Luc a. Honoring that legacy, Javier Lim n, producer of Paco's later GRAMMY-winning albums, reassembles the original band that toured with Paco de Luc a in this tribute performance, The Paco de Luc a Project arriving at Valley Performing Arts Center (The Soraya) on Saturday, November 4 at 8:00pm.

The influence of Paco de Luc a on flamenco guitar has been compared to that of Andr s Segovia's on classical guitar. Here, his longtime collaborator and producer (and 10-time Latin Grammy winner) Javier Lim n reassembles the ensemble that toured with the legend throughout the final 10 years of his career.

Red Bull Theater today announced a very special Revelation Reading: for two nights only, on Sunday, June 18th and Monday June 19th at The Duke on 42nd Street (229 West 42nd Street, between 7th and 8th Avenues) Red Bull will present a concert reading of  THE COUNTRY WIFE, a new musical adapted from the play of the same name by William Wycherley by Richard Maltby Jr. with lyrics by Richard Maltby Jr. and music by David Shire, and direction by Mr. Maltby.  

A frothy Noel Coward evening on a warm June night sounds like perfect programming. Buffalo's Irish Classical Theatre is presenting his light hearted romp HAY FEVER with mixed results, at best. Although considered one of Coward's lesser works, HAY FEVER has achieved a respectable position in the theatre canon, mostly in part to it's unique opportunities to portray lovably odd characters.

Every so often, a show comes along that manages to surprise even the most unlikely of theatre-goers. Shows that seem geared towards a certain audience sometimes prove themselves able to entertain a vast array of tastes, more than they may have expected. This is the case of SOCIAL SECURITY at Oyster Mill Playhouse, a play aimed to tickle the funny bones of an older crowd that still succeeds in getting a laugh from all ages.

Virginia's Signature Theatre opens its air-conditioned doors once again for the annual Sizzlin' Summer Nights Series. Two and a half weeks of live music and performances by Signature favorites and DC area stars. The cabaret series runs July 5 through July 22, with a different performance every night.

A HOME RUN was hit today, Tuesday, May 2 as the two teams of the DRAG QUEEN  WORLD SERIES took over the airwaves on FOX Channel 11's  GOOD DAY LA from 6am-9am.  

Veteran entertainer Maurice Hines, "trans-genre" artist Justin Vivian Bond, comedian Jim David, and musician Paul Shaffer have been set as presenters at the 32nd annual Bistro Awards on Monday, March 13 at 6:30pmat Gotham Comedy Club. Hines, Bond, and David are, themselves, previous Bistro Award honorees.
