Remember when that tall handsome imposing clothing executive J. Peterman would reprimand Elaine Benes his trusted employee (and Jerry's soulmate)?  He had a somber pompous demeanor, but then his conversation made a U-turn into something absurdly funny.  That's the way John O'Hurley, the brilliant actor, author and Broadway performer ( Billy Flynn,Chicago) starts his Cafe Carlyle cabaret act, with a reprimand to Darwin Best who makes the off stage announcement at The Carlyle….'You call that an introduction'? Then John O'Hurley proceeds to introduce himself with an authoritative voice that's a mix of Richard Burton, Edward R. Murray and Charles Kuralt.

Tony-winner and Grammy nominee Lena Hall returned to Cafe Carlyle with Oh! You Pretty Things, last night and BroadwayWorld was there. The all-new show acts as a love letter to Lena's rock & roll spirit guides, the pantheon of misfits and rebels who inspired us to transcend by transforming themselves. This intimate journey through Lena's personal love life will reveal how pivotal these artists have been in helping her navigate her relationships, shining like beacons and helping her shape her voice and her identity, again and again. At Cafe Carlyle, Lena Hall is joined by a band including Justin Craig, Watt White and Brian Fishler. Oh! You Pretty Things is directed by Stephen Amato. The engagement runs through June 25th.

Buster Poindexter, Johansen's celebrated alter ego showcases his elegant crooning through R&B ballads. As Poindexter, his previous engagements at the Cafe have been sellouts and he's become one of the most revered artists to grace the Cafe, with TheaterMania calling his Cafe show 'one of the most satisfying musical acts you're likely to encounter in New York,' adding 'this show is hot.' In what continues to become a Cafe tradition, the audience favorite returned to Cafe Carlyle for a two-week residency last night and broadwayworld was there.

The Carlyle, A Rosewood Hotel welcomes Tony Award-Winner John Lloyd Young for his Cafe Carlyle debut where he will perform his program 'My Turn.' Mr. Young opens at the Cafe Carlyle through February 23rd where he will be joined by GLEE music producer Tommy Faragher as his music director with a seven piece band including Mr. Faragher on piano/keyboards, John Putnam on guitar, Paul Socolow on bass, Eric Kalb on drums, Goke Erem on violin, Eddy Malave on viola, and Leigh Stuart on Cello.
