The TexARTS Cabaret Series will welcome two upcoming acts to the intimate Kam and James Morrris Theatre: Michelle Cheney and Darcie Roberts.

La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts and McCoy Rigby Entertainment present the Southern California regional theatre premiere of the Tony Award-winning musical, NEXT TO NORMAL, music by Tom Kitt, book and lyrics by Brian Yorkey, musical direction by Darryl Archibald and directed by Nick DeGruccio with musical direction by Darryl Archibald. NEXT TO NORMAL opened last night, June 1, and runs through Sunday, June 23, 2013. BroadwayWorld was there for the opening festivities and brings you photos from the curtain call, party and more!

Darcie Roberts, who played the title role in the U.S. first national tour of 'Thoroughly Modern Millie,' will serve as one of the professional guest teaching artists for the TexARTS summer musical theatre intensive, 'Thoroughly Modern Millie' (June 10 - 30). Students enrolled in this three-week, production-based intensive will rehearse while receiving instruction in acting, dance and voice from a team of professional instructors and special Broadway guests. Rehearsals culminate in a public performance on June 29-30.

In honor of comedy legend Carl Reiner's 75 years in the business, Center Theatre Group presented a staged reading of 'Enter Laughing, The Musical,' which is inspired by Reiner's experiences as a young man struggling to break into theatre in New York. The one night only event directed by Stuart Ross ('Forever Plaid'), was performed at the Mark Taper Forum on Monday, January 28, 2013.

A studio cast recording of Winter Wonderettes, the holiday sequel to the hit off-Broadway musical The Marvelous Wonderettes is now available from LML Music at LMLmusic.com. The album features 19 Christmas classics sung by four Los Angeles stage favorites that helped make productions of the show artistic and financial successes across the country. Reprising their roles as Betty Jean, Cindy Lou, Missy and Suzy are Julie Dixon Jackson, Darcie Roberts, Misty Cotton and Bets Malone.

The full cast is set for the world premiere of the new musical 'Leap of Faith,' which will begin performances at the Center Theatre Group/Ahmanson Theatre on September 11, 2010 and continue through October 24. The opening is scheduled for October 3. Check out the new rehearsal photos below.
