WINTER WONDERETTES Cast Album Now Available

A studio cast recording of Winter Wonderettes, the holiday sequel to the hit off-Broadway musical The Marvelous Wonderettes is now available from LML Music at LMLmusic.com. The album features 19 Christmas classics sung by four Los Angeles stage favorites that helped make productions of the show artistic and financial successes across the country. Reprising their roles as Betty Jean, Cindy Lou, Missy and Suzy are Julie Dixon Jackson, Darcie Roberts, Misty Cotton and Bets Malone.
 
The cast recording of The Marvelous Wonderettes was recently listed as #28 on the Amazon.com 100 top-selling girl group recordings. Wonderettes creator Roger Bean uses rock and pop hits to tell the story of four friends beginning with their 1958 high school prom and later at their 1968 class reunion. That award-winning show ran for two years at the El Portal Theatre in Los Angeles and for over 540 performances in New York, and continues to fill theaters across the United States.
 
With musical arrangements by Brian William Baker, Winter Wonderettes brings the unmistakable 60's girl-group sound to holiday standards such as "Santa Claus is Comin' to Town," "Jingle Bell Rock" and "Santa Baby" as well as lesser known treasures like "Christmas Will Be Just Another Lonely Day" and "All Those Christmas Clichés." Show-stopping vocals and signature four-part harmonies make these familiar holiday favorites irresistibly fun.
 
Bean notes that this project got its start with help from Wonderettes fans via the kickstarter.com website. Through Kickstarter, creative endeavors are funded by individual donors via the Internet. If a project's funding goal is met within the specified time frame, in Bean's case $25,000 in one month, then the money is collected and the project moves forward. Funders received thank you gifts ranging from signed copies of the album to Executive Producer credit and dinner with the creative team, depending on their level of support.
 
The Winter Wonderettes cast recording brings together audience favorites Bets Malone (originated the role of Suzy in The Marvelous Wonderettes, and has been featured in four of Roger Bean's original musicals), Misty Cotton (Ellen in Miss Saigon on Broadway, Narrator in Joseph & The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat national tour, and Missy in The Marvelous Wonderettes at Laguna Playhouse), Darcie Roberts (Cindy Lou in The Marvelous Wonderettes at Laguna Playhouse and Musical Theatre West, Millie in Thoroughly Modern Millie national tour) and Julie Dixon Jackson (Betty Jean in The Marvelous Wonderettes at Laguna Playhouse and El Portal, Daisy Hilton in the LA premiere of Side Show).
