Hamilton is ready to blow us all away as they enter their fourth year of their monumental Broadway run! Take a look at the current cast that is burning up the Richard Rodgers stage.

BroadwayWorld has just learned that Hamilton veteran Nicholas Christopher will return to the show beginning tonight, June 18. He replaces Carvens Lissaint as 'George Washington.' 

Bay Street Theater is pleased to announce THE PROMPTER, the first production of the 2019 Mainstage Season, had a successful opening night on June 1. The show runs through June 16. This World Premiere stars Tovah Feldshuh (Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, The Walking Dead, Golda's Balcony) and Wade Dooley (Jersey Boys), who is also the playwright. The OBIE Award-winning NAATCO, National Asian American Theatre Company, kicks off their 29th season with the World Premiere of Gordon Dahlquist's [Veil Widow Conspiracy]. Aneesha Kudtarkar directs a cast that will include Edward Chin-Lyn, Kimiye Corwin, Bruce McKenzie, David Shih, James Seol, Karoline Xu, and Aaron Yoo. This Off-Broadway limited engagement at Next Door at New York Theatre Workshop (79 East 4th Street) will begin performances Saturday June 8th with Opening Night set for June 15th (7pm).  Performances continue through July 6th only.

As the third offering in its 2019 season, Second Thought Theatre will present a double feature of the rarely produced Caryl Churchill plays Drunk Enough to Say I love You? and Here We Go. STT Artistic Director Alex Organ directs both plays. Returning to the STT stage as part of the dual-cast ensemble are Brandon Potter (Straight White Men) Jenny Ledel (Revolt. She said. Revolt again., Empathitrax, Grounded), and Blake Hackle. Joining these alum in their STT debuts are local luminaries Kieran Connolly (Dallas Theatre Center Diane and Hal Brierley Acting Company member) and Rhonda Boutte (Kitchen Dog Theater company member). Presenting both plays each evening as a single offering, the Caryl Churchill double feature begins with previews on Wednesday, June 5 and runs through Saturday, June 29. All performances will take place at Bryant Hall on the Kalita Humphreys Campus, 3400 Blackburn Street. Tickets to each performance can be purchased online at secondthoughttheatre.com.

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts hosts more than 120 outstanding theater students from colleges and universities across the nation as part of the 50th annual Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival (KCACTF), which runs April 16-20, 2019 in multiple locations throughout the Center. The Center also announced the national awardees for the KCACTF. Selected awardees and representatives will be brought to Washington, D.C. for an expense-paid trip to participate in the National Festival. These student artists from across the United States have been recognized for their outstanding work from the eight regional festivals that were held January 8 through February 28, 2019.

Bay Street Theater is pleased to announce the cast and creative team for the first show of the 2019 Mainstage Season. The World Premiere of THE PROMPTER (May 28- June 16) a new comedy by Wade Dooley; will be directed by Scott Schwartz, Bay Street Theater's Artistic Director.

The Old Globe today announced the cast and creative team as comic playwright Ken Ludwig, who delighted Globe audiences with Robin Hood! and Baskerville, returns with a hilarious world premiere: Ken Ludwig's The Gods of Comedy, directed by Amanda Dehnert (West Side Story at Carnegie Hall, world premieres of Kate Hamill's Pride and Prejudice and Ludwig's Baskerville). Presented in association with McCarter Theatre Center, The Gods of Comedy will run May 11 - June 16, 2019 on the Donald and Darlene Shiley Stage, Old Globe Theatre, Conrad Prebys Theatre Center, opening on May 16. Arthur Miller's All My Sons begins preview performances tonight, April 4, 2019, and opens officially on Monday, April 22, 2019.

The new comedy musical, Tootsie begins performances on Broadway tonight, March 29th, with an opening night of Tuesday, April 23rd. Get to know the cast below as they begin Broadway performances!

The Maggie Allesee Department of Theatre and Dance, a program within the College of Fine, Performing and Communication Arts at Wayne State University, is thrilled to honor Michigan native and Tony Award-winning producer of 'Hamilton,' Jeffrey Seller, with the 2019 Apple Award on Wednesday, March 27 at the Fisher Theatre. A private, pre-show reception with Mr. Seller will be held at the Fisher Theatre before guests attend 'Hamilton' that evening at 8 p.m.

Don Nguyen's reading will help him polish the script for its world premiere at the Dallas Theatre Center, opening June  3- July 12 at their Dee and Charles Wyly Theatre. A highly comic take on the bratty coming of age of Kim Jong-Un, yes the very North Korean dictator we are all too familiar with. The #RoughReadings Series is a monthly series of new works by rising national playwrights. It is in its 12th year thanks to the National Center for New Plays at Stanford University. Come join us to listen to a new work in development, meet the writer, and participate in the creative effort of bringing contemporary theater to life. Like the Playwrights Festival the works are presented by Bay Area professional actors and directors. Two readings are held for each script. The Rough Readings are produced in partnership with National Center for New Plays at Stanford University. All readings are Pay What You Can.

After the record breaking success of WAM Theatre's fall 2018 production of ANN by Holland Taylor, WAM is thrilled to announce that Arena Stage in Washington, DC, and Dallas Theatre Center are presenting a new co-production of ANN in July and October of this year. WAM's Artistic Director, Kristen van Ginhoven, will again direct the production, and Jayne Atkinson returns to star in the title role.
