OPERA America Launches NOTES

OPERA America, the nonprofit service organization for opera, announces the launch of its National Opera Teacher and Educator Source (NOTES), which provides a wide range of lesson plans and professional expertise to busy educators in an easily accessible online format. NOTES (operaamerica.org/NOTES) builds on OPERA America's nearly three decades of leadership in opera education and was made possible by generous support from the Hearst Foundations.

INSIDE THE MIND OF ME Set for Hollywood Fringe Next Month

 Wade Wilson has been on quite the roller coaster lately. He just finished a significant part on a yet undisclosed Spike Lee project that had him working all over the country and meeting top celebrities. He is prepping to publish a collection of poetry that he has spent years writing. He has just signed on for another major acting project, what he calls a dream role. And his passion project, supported by GLAAD, is getting ready to open at the Hollywood Fringe Festival.

WWE Superstars Heading to Original Animated Short-Form Series

WWE (NYSE:WWE) and Mattel, Inc. (NASDAQ:MAT) today announced the launch of WWE Slam City, WWE's new kids property that includes an original animated short-form series and a complete line of WWE Slam City merchandise.

Open Stage of Harrisburg Will Present JOE TURNER'S COME AND GONE, 2/1-23

Open Stage of Harrisburg Executive Artistic Director Donald Alsedek directs another installment of August Wilson's acclaimed Century Cycle of plays exploring the Black experience in America Following at the intimate Angino Family Theatre. Following last year's triumph with MA RAINEY'S BLACK BOTTOM, Alsedek takes on August Wilson's African-American epic, JOE TURNER'S COME AND GONE. The production opens February 1 and closes February 23. Evening performances Thursday to Saturdays are at 8:00pm and Sunday matinees are at 2:00pm.

Capitol Center for the Arts Welcomes Andrew Peterson, 12/8

Andrew Peterson, one of today's most beloved Christian singer/songwriters, comes to the Capitol Center for the Arts on Saturday, December 8, at 7:30pm with Behold the Lamb of God: The True Tall Tale of the Coming of Christ, a collection of songs about Jesus. Joining the tour for the first time this year is Americana/Pop Artist, Matthew Perryman Jones, who will share the stage with Jill Phillips, Andy Gullahorn, Ben Shive and Andrew Osenga.

PBS to Air A CELEBRATION OF MGM FILM MUSICALS

A CELEBRATION OF CLASSIC MGM FILM MUSICALS premieres Saturday, August 4 at 5:30 p.m. on PBS SoCal in Los Angeles and Saturday, August 18 at 7:30 p.m. on THIRTEEN in New York (check local listings nationally August 2012).

Buck Creek Players Present THE DROWSY CHAPERONE, Now thru 6/17

The most celebrated musical of the 2006 Broadway season, The Drowsy Chaperone, a new musical comedy, is coming to the Buck Creek Playhouse, 11150 Southeastern Avenue, for nine performances, tonight June 1 through June 17, 2012. With music and lyrics by Lisa Lambert and Greg Morrison, and a book by Bob Martin and Don McKellar, this musical within a comedy takes a modern-day spin on musical comedies of old.

Dallas Opera's TRISTAN & ISOLDE Opens 2/16

The Dallas Opera will present Richard Wagner's intense and passionate drama, TRISTAN & ISOLDE, for the first time in nearly forty years. This new TDO production opens Thursday, February 16, 2012 at 7:00 PM in the Margot and Bill Winspear Opera House at the AT&T Performing Arts Center in Downtown Dallas.
