Marymount Manhattan College Theatre Arts Division (Mary Fleisher, department Chair) will present Girl Gone by Mac William Hopkins from October 21 - October 25. Tickets go on sale today.

Girl Gone by Mac Wellman with direction by Paul Lazar, choreography by Annie-B Parson, with music composed and directed by Cynthia Hopkins marks the premier fall production at Marymount's Division of Fine Arts. The production will play 5 performances only; Wednesday, October 21 through Sunday, October 25 at the Theresa Lang Theatre.

WHY WON'T YOU LET ME BE GREAT!!! is a group show inspired by Kanye West's ground-breaking, 'Thom Yorke in the Strip Club' crossover pop album 808s & Heartbreak. Conceived by Brendan Kennedy and presented by Neal Medlyn and Catch in association with Performance Space 122, the evening-length performance will feature work by a vast array of downtown superstars showing pieces inspired by each song from the album, much as the Joffrey Ballet's (in)famous Billboards choreographed the songs of Prince.

Five years ago (on March 26, 2004 to be precise) 'Accidental Nostalgia' premiered at St. Anne's Warehouse to enthusiastic reviews and packed houses. The show's star, Cynthia Hopkins, became a celebrated figure in New York's alternative theater community, and the success of the show gave rise to 'The Accidental Trilogy,' which includes 'Must Don't Whip 'Um' (2007) and the forthcoming 'The Success of Failure (or The Failure of Success),' the third and final show in the trilogy which plays at St. Ann's Warehouse May 22 - June 7, 2009.

Wrapped in a weary, country twang with a raspy undertone, Hopkins's delicate yet emotionally forceful voice has been compared to a wide range of vocalists including Billie Holiday, Natalie Merchant, and Lotte Lenya; her lyrics evoking dark humor and sparkling intelligence in equal measure.

The Public Theater's Artistic Director Oskar Eustis and Executive Director Mara Manus, in association with Playwright Suzan-Lori Parks and Producer Bonnie Metzgar's 365 National Festival, are pleased to announce the schedule of the final New York presentations of 365 Days/365 Plays. Four companies - Universes, Rebel Theater Company, HERE Arts Center, and Pig Iron Theatre Company - will present their original interpretations of Parks's texts, culminating in a final presentation at The Public Theater that will include the 365th and final play of the cycle.

The Public Theater has announced that it will host Under the Radar 2007, a twelve-day festival that presents contemporary theater artists from across the country and around the world.

Martin E. Segal Theatre Center and The Graduate Center, CUNY, with The Lucille Lortel Foundation, will present the four-day event 'PRELUDE '06: At the Forefront of Contemporary NYC Theatre.'
