Award-winning Colour Purple star Didintle Khunou will play Janet in the upcoming production of Richard O'Brien's ROCKY HORROR SHOW!

With its announcement late last month, South Africa is shivering with anticipation over THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW's arrival to Artscape and Montecasino later this year. Leading man Craig Urbani chats to BroadwayWorld South Africa about his history with Richard O'Brien's beloved rock 'n roll musical, and how he's approaching the fantastical Frank N. Furter.

Since it first opened in London in June 1973 at the Royal Court Theatre Upstairs, Richard O'Brien's The Rocky Horror Show has become the world's favourite Rock 'N' Roll musical, having been performed worldwide for 45 years in more than 30 countries and translated into over 20 languages. This critically-acclaimed stunning new production is coming to the Teatro, Montecasino, in January 2020 can you feel the ANTICI PATION?! Directed by Christopher Luscombe, the smash hit show features all of the famous musical numbers which have made The Rocky Horror Show such a huge hit for over four decades, including Sweet Transvestite , Science Fiction/Double Feature , Dammit Janet and, of course, the timeless floor-filler, The Time-Warp .

WEST SIDE STORY, the Fugard Theatre's epic out-of-house production, which is currently back for a final South African season at the Artscape Opera House, has extended its run by popular demand. The highly acclaimed show that opened on 7 March to rave reviews and five-star ratings, has once again taken Cape Town by storm and will now run to 22 April 2018, when it must close. There is no possibility for extension beyond that date.

The current season of WEST SIDE STORY - produced by the Fugard Theatre in the Artscape Opera House - is still as grand as it was in 2015, but is even better in 2018 than it was before - an emotional rollercoaster that is second to none. When I look back at the various productions and performances of WEST SIDE STORY that I have seen to date, this is the one I will remember.

Grant Almirall, star of SINGIN' IN THE RAIN, joins the superb cast of the Fugard Theatre's smash hit musical, WEST SIDE STORY, at the Joburg Theatre until 5 March 2017.

The Fugard Theatre's grand-scale, smash hit, all South African production of WEST SIDE STORY is currently running at the Joburg Theatre's Mandela Theatre in Johannesburg, presented by Eric Abraham and the Fugard Theatre.
