The 2017 awards honor productions which opened between October 1, 2016 and September 30, 2017. Nominations were completely reader-submitted and after the nomination period ended October 31, BroadwayWorld's local editors proofed the list for eligibility and errors.
Theatrical Outfit has received a grant from the Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta, Inc. in the amount of $150,000 over a two year period to support the general operations of the Organization. The downtown professional theatre received the exciting news on October 25th, and was presented with the check by James Tobias, Major Gifts Officer at the Community Foundation, on Thursday, November 16th. In attendance at the formal presentation were Theatrical Outfit Artistic Director Tom Key, TO Board Chair Stephanie Watkins, TO Trustees Tommy Barrow, Charlie Henn, and Margaret Murphy, TO Assoc. Artistic Director Clifton Guterman, and TO Director of Communications and Development Tess Malis Kincaid.

The Atlanta Musical Theatre Festival is thrilled to announce the selections for the Second Annual Atlanta Musical Theatre Festival (AMTF), which will be held July 30 and 31, and August 1, 2017, at Out Front Theatre. The AMTF will be three nights of original musical theatre performances by local artists, as well as showcase performances of professional productions and educational groups. Performances will be open to the artistic community, the public, and the press. Twenty-two submissions were accepted and three shows have been selected for the second annual event. Tickets are $15-45 (not including taxes and fees), and will go on sale June 19th at www.TheAMTF.com. Performances will be open to the artistic community, the public, and the press. Submissions are being accepted now for work to be presented at the festival (details below). The deadline to submit is February 14, 2017. Selections will be announced April 1, 2017. Tickets to the Festival will go on sale in spring 2017.
