NYTB/Chamber Works (Diana Byer, Founder and Artistic Director) announces its return to Danspace Project with their REP program (February 13 - 15), this year featuring two world premieres: Robert La Fosse's A Soldier's Tale and Antonia Franceschi's untitled new work. The program also features Sir Richard Alston's company premiere of Shimmer and Pam Tanowitz's Double Andante.

According to the Guardian, three-time Tony winner Mark Rylance has resigned as an associate artist with the UK's Royal Shakespeare Company due to a sponsorship deal with BP. He explained: "I do not wish to be associated with BP any more than I would with an arms dealer, a tobacco salesman or anyone who wilfully destroys the lives of others alive and unborn. Nor, I believe, would William Shakespeare."

Shakespeare's Globe is delighted to announce the programme for 'Women & Power', a new festival of events opening on Sunday 12 May 2018. Shakespeare's Globe is delighted to announce the Summer Season 2019. Celebrating and interrogating our 'sceptred isle' through Shakespeare's history plays, a year-long journey begins with Richard II, opening 22 February in the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse, continuing into the Globe Theatre this summer with Henry IV Parts 1 and 2, and Henry V. The season also includes A Midsummer Night's Dream, The Merry Wives of Windsor, Ben Jonson's Bartholomew Fair, and the return of 2018's As You Like It. Robin Hood tales will form the core of the Read Not Dead series this year, and festivals throughout the summer include Women & Power and Poland is Hamlet. This year's Playing Shakespeare with Deutsche Bank production will be Romeo and Juliet, opening on 28 February, with 20,000 free tickets available to state secondary schools. The Shakespeare's Globe Touring Ensemble will once again present a trio of plays for the audience to choose from: The Comedy of Errors, Pericles, and Twelfth Night.

Conrad Lynch has stepped down as Artistic Director of Theatre by the Lake after opening THE OTHER PLACE at Park Theatre the final show in his acclaimed second summer season, as the Board refocus the artistic offer to concentrate on their traditional repertory programme.

Aaron Pierre is currently playing Cassio in Shakespeare's Globe's production of Othello. Pierre is a graduate of LAMDA and was recently seen as Dev-EM in the series Krypton.

Shakespeare's Globe has announced full casting for Matt Hartley's new play Eyam, directed by Adele Thomas, opening in The Globe on Saturday 15 September. When the plague arrives surprisingly in the Derbyshire village of Eyam in 1665, the community face a moral dilemma. They must decide whether to flee and risk spreading the vicious disease, or stay, protect others from the risk, and face the potential of their own slow and painful death.

Michelle Terry's first season at the Globe continues apace, with what some will have marked out as a highlight since its announcement back in January. Mark Rylance returns to the Globe stage, once again directed by Claire van Kampen, starring as Iago alongside American actor Andre Holland in the title role. This is another strand in Terry's Emilia arc, which will culminate in Morgan Lloyd Malcolm's new play about Shakespeare's 'Dark Lady', Emilia Bassano.
