THE BASH at City Theatre Takes Over the South Side Next Month

City Theatre Company, Pittsburgh’s home for contemporary plays, has announced its annual fundraiser, THE BASH. On Saturday, September 9, 2023, Co-Chairs Holly & Evan Frazier and Cori & J. Dax Parise kick off City Theatre’s 49th season of bold, new work with a street party cookout.

New Jersey Fringe Festival to Return this August

4 Broadway Shows Close Today

Broadway says goodbye to four productions. Leopoldstadt takes its final bow at the Longacre Theatre following 19 previews and 313 regular performances; Fat Ham will conclude its run at the American Airlines Theatre following 21 previews and 95 regular performances; Prima Facie wraps up at the John Golen Theatre following 14 previews and 81 regular performances; and The Sign in Sidney Brustein's Window will end its run at the James Earl Jones Theatre following 3 previews and 77 regular performances.

THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST Plays City Theatre Austin June 3 - 18

The City Theatre Company begins its summer 2023 season with Oscar Wilde's delightful satire The Importance of Being Earnest. Quick-tongued, lively, fast-paced Wilde at his best, it is a merry-go-round of mistaken identity, sparkling wit, and daring humor at every turn brought to new life with panache from CTC's guest director, Karen Sneed. The show runs June 3 - 18 at Genesis Creative Collective

F*CK7THGRADE Returns to Wild Project

wild project will present a 2nd encore engagement of the critically acclaimed musical memoir 'F*ck7thGrade'. Nominated for a 2023 Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Musical, it features music, lyrics, and concept by Jill Sobule, book by Liza Birkenmeier, direction by two-time Obie Award-winner Lisa Peterson and music direction by Julie Wolf. 'F*ck7thGrade' runs November 8 - 26.

DANCING IN THE BLUE LIGHT Comes to Asolo Repertory Theatre This Month

 Asolo Repertory Theatre’s new work development program, Ground Floor, will present a free staged reading of the play, Dancing in the Blue Light, conceived by Tomé Cousin and Monteze Freeland and written by Monteze Freeland on Friday, May 26, at 2:00 p.m., in the Asolo Rep Rehearsal Hall.
