Manhattan Theatre Club (Lynne Meadow, Artistic Director and Barry Grove, Executive Producer)'s world premiere of Summer, 1976 has announced an additional one-week extension. Summer, 1976 will now play through Sunday, June 18 at MTC's Samuel J. Friedman Theatre.

I interviewed Tony Award winner Gavin Creel about his experience as The Wolf/Cinderella’s Prince in the national tour of Stephen Sondheim’s INTO THE WOODS. The production started as a City Center Encores staging and later transferred to Broadway. Now, Chicago audiences can see the tour — with some of the original Broadway company, including Gavin himself— through May 7.

BroadwayWorld has learned that Harmony will transfer to Broadway at the Barrymore Theatre later this year! Direct from its sold-out, award-winning downtown run, Harmony, a New York Times Critic's Pick, begins performances on Broadway October 18th.

Joining Tony winner Ruthie Ann Miles are Shereen Ahmed as Franca Naccarelli, Andréa Burns as Signora Naccarelli, Rodd Cyrus as Giuseppe Naccarelli, James D. Gish as Fabrizio Naccarelli, Ivan Hernandez as Signor Naccarelli, and introducing Anna Zavelson as Clara Johnson.

The Muny has announced that Ashley Blanchet, Ben Crawford, Claybourne Elder, Ann Harada, Kelvin Moon Loh, Eric Jordan Young, Holly Ann Butler, Tommy Bracco, Harrison White, Debby Lennon and Michael Hobin will star in the magical production of Disney's Beauty and the Beast, June 22 - 30, 2023.

Love + Science, a new play by scientist and writer David J. Glass, announced the cast and creative team for its premiere at New York City Center Stage II.

Rehearsals are underway for the New York City Center production of Oliver! The production will be led by Lilli Cooper as Nancy, Raúl Esparza as Fagin, Julian Lerner as The Artful Dodger, Tam Mutu as Bill Sikes, Brad Oscar as Mr. Bumble, Benjamin Pajak as Oliver Twist, and Mary Testa as Widow Corney. The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust has announced, as part of the 2022-2023 Pittsburgh Dance Council season, the world-renowned Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater will perform at the Benedum Center, (237 7th Street, Cultural District) for one-night only on Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at 8:00 p.m. This event is presented by the Pittsburgh Dance Council and BNY Mellon. 

Gibney, the New York City based dance and social justice organization, will present the world premiere of Beauty Happens by Falcon Dance June 8-10.
