It may only be spring, but country radio is about to get a lot hotter with a brand new version of Blackjack Billy's upcoming single, “The Booze Cruise” from Reviver Records. The country group is moving full steam ahead with their highly energetic new single. The feel-good anthem, available for download HERE, was officially released to country radio yesterday.

Jeff McCarthy starred in Broadway's Beauty & The Beast, Chicago, Les Miserables, and the original casts of Side Show (Terry) and Urinetown, creating the role of Officer Lockstock, which he reprised several times for the Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS events, The Easter Bonnet and Gypsy of the Year competitions. He's spending his holiday season in Washington D.C. at the Arena Stage, where he'll take on the role of Fagin in their production of Oliver!. Jeff took a moment to chat with me about the show, as well as his past, present, and future plans.
Carnegie Hall's Free Fall Family Weekend Set for This Weekend

This weekend, October 17-18, Carnegie Hall celebrates families with an interactive Fall Family Weekend in the Resnick Education Wing. During this free musical extravaganza, with activities ongoing from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. each day, kids and grownups alike can participate in songwriting workshops, create and play their own instruments, join in sing-alongs, listen to musical stories, and explore a digital music playground. Both days will also feature performances in the Weill Music Room by Carnegie Kids performers Sbongiseni Duma at 11:00 a.m., Elizabeth Mitchell and You Are My Flower at 12:30 p.m., and Shine and the Moonbeams at 2:00 p.m. Please note: reservations for the Fall Family Weekend are currently full, but additional guests will be admitted as capacity allows via a standby line.

The New York Philharmonic and Warner Bros. will present Bugs Bunny at the Symphony, a program celebrating classic Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies cartoons with the New York Philharmonic playing the music live while the animation is screened. Emmy Award winner George Daugherty will conduct in his Philharmonic debut, and Academy Award winner and New York Philharmonic Board Member Whoopi Goldberg will appear as a special guest. The concerts take place tonight, May 15, 2015, at 7:30 p.m.; Saturday, May 16 at 2:00 p.m.; and Saturday, May 16 at 7:30 p.m.

During the final month of the popular Smithsonian exhibition What's Up, Doc? The Animation Art of Chuck Jones -- closing Monday, January 19 -- Museum of the Moving Image will be celebrating animation in its galleries, theaters, and classrooms. In conjunction with the Chuck Jones exhibition, this holiday period, the Museum is presenting daily screenings of classic Chuck Jones cartoons and "Stop Motion Shapes," family animation workshops inspired by the legendary animator. In addition, the Museum will present the contemporary animated features Coraline (in 3-D), Ratatouille, Toy Story 2, The Wind Rises, and others.
