Oscar-winning composer Michael Giacchino ('Ratatouille,' 'Up') will guide audience members through some of the most inspired and memorable uses of classical music in animation in the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences 'What's Opera, Doc? Animation and Classical Music' on Friday, May 14, at 7:30 p.m. at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills. He will be joined by Academy Music Branch governor Bruce Broughton ('Silverado,' 'The Rescuers Down Under') and Oscar-winning animated feature director Pete Docter ('Monsters, Inc.,' 'Up').

Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Elmer Fudd, Pepe Le Pew, Wile E. Coyote and many other iconic characters created or developed by Oscar-winning animator and humorist Chuck Jones (1912 - 2002) will be showcased in the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' summer exhibition 'Chuck Jones: An Animator's Life From A to Z-Z-Z-Z,' opening to the public on Friday, May 14, in the Academy's Grand Lobby Gallery in Beverly Hills. Admission is free.

A sold out crowd filled the Avalon Hollywood Theatre on Sunday night, April 11th for the 42nd annual Academy of Magical Arts Awards. The evening was not only hosted, but also co-produced by the popular Neil Patrick Harris. The evenings color commentary was offered by the always-funny Jason Alexander.
