The Instant Shakespeare Company will present readings on Zoom from Edward II to Richard III by William Shakespeare and his contemporaries. Thirteen Plays covering English History from 1311 through 1485 from Saturday October 9 through November 6. These will be presented on Zoom and livestreamed to the Instant Shakespeare Company on YouTube.

So four playwrights walk into a bar and the first one says …. sound like the setup for a joke?  No, it’s actually the premise for Shakespeare in Revue, the delightful second presentation by Joshua Tree’s Theatre Under the Stars.

What do you get when you combine the pianistic finesse of Michael Feinstein, the smooth phrasing of Tony Bennett, and the bawdy wit of Bette Midler? You get Michael McAssey, who for 40 years has reigned as the clown prince of New York cabaret, and has enchanted as one of its most talented troubadours. He calls what he does 'schtick.' But that's undervaluing his unique blend of beautiful ballad singing and standup, or rather 'sit down' comedy.

The production was called The Wild West (Sh!t) Show, an original collaborative piece conceived and developed by Haley Kooyman.  It is the first of four productions being produced by JT Theatre Under the Stars, sponsored by Wind Walkers and Thought Theatre.

On Tuesday June 29th at 5PM ET, Broadway Records will host a virtual listening party in celebration of the June 25th world premiere studio cast recording release of IN THE LIGHT, A Faustian Tale, the new musical with a contemporary spin on the epic Faustus story of greed, power and lust.

This is the third instalment in their Month of Marlowe series, preceded by Edward II (9 June) and Dido Queen of Carthage (16 June) and followed by the Marlowe Lives Cabaret (30 June).  

The Show Must Go Online, today announced the full cast for their upcoming livestreamed performed reading of Dido Queen of Carthage by Christopher Marlowe. This is the second instalment in their Month of Marlowe series, preceded by Edward II (9 June) and followed by Doctor Faustus (23 June) and Marlowe Lives Cabaret (30 June).  

Drawing inspiration from classic surreal, expressionist films by Ingmar Bergman and Jean Cocteau, Edward II will be live on Wednesday 9 June at 7pm BST, and available on catch-up thereafter. The Show Must Go Online's Month of Marlowe comes after the collective performed the entirety of William Shakespeare's First Folio in weekly livestreamed readings over 36 consecutive weeks last year.
