Artistic Director Robert Falls and Executive Director Roche Schulfer have announced 'Our Next Act'-Goodman Theatre's 2021 Season of eight plays on its two stages (the 856-seat Albert Theatre and 350-seat flexible Owen Theatre) scheduled to begin when it is deemed safe for audiences, artists and staff.

Magic Theatre announced today that the Company will host its first-ever Virtual Gala Fundraiser, Springing Forward, on Thursday, August 6, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. PST / 9:00 p.m. EST. Berkeley Repertory Theatre today revealed all seven productions for the 2021 subscription season. The shows announced include the West Coast premiere and season opener Sanctuary City by Martyna Majok; the world premiere musical Goddess by Saheem Ali; the world premiere musical Swept Away and more.

The Playwrights' Center is continuing its commitment to developing playwrights and new work through their Core Writers program. Seven of the country's most thrilling playwrights are joining the program. The 2020-2023 Core Writers are Sharon Bridgforth, Mashuq Mushtaq Deen, Andrew Rosendorf, Riti Sachdeva, Charly Evon Simpson, Crystal Skillman, and Jonathan Spector.

Roselle Main Street is a quaint, suburban downtown featuring almost all mom and pop shops. When COVID 19 made it nearly impossible for some businesses to even be open, Lynfred Winery, Roselle's anchor in downtown, decided to help their neighbors. 'Within the first week of shelter in place orders we started thinking of ways to help our local businesses,' says Lynfred's marketing director, Christina Anderson-Heller. The winery regularly raises money for charity, donating every month to a local "Charity of the Month." 'We make wine, so let's sell some wine and donate the proceeds,' said Lynfred general manager, Andres Basso. That's exactly what they did. By April 1 the "Relief for Roselle" package was for sale on the winery's website. The Relief for Roselle wine package included four wines, including a reserve red and a rose' (for Roselle) at a nearly 50 percent discount. The winery customers flocked to the deal and by the end of the month the charity wine package sales came in at just under $9000. Lynfred Winery is presenting four checks, in the amounts of $2200 each, to Little Red Ribbon, Jen's Art, Gifts & Books, Juice & Berry and Bella Capelli Salon & Spa, all located on Roselle Main Street. 'We are beyond grateful for the support of Lynfred and the Roselle community,' says Jen Fisher, owner of Jen's Art, Gifts & Books. Basso, in reply says, 'In these times it is more important than ever to shop local and support our family-run businesses.' Roselle Mayor Andy Maglio added, 'Once again, Lynfred Winery proves to be an outstanding and generous business to the Village of Roselle. Their selfless act of raising money for their fellow business partners is an example of their commitment to the success of our town. The UC San Diego Department of Theatre and Dance presents Man In Love by Christina Anderson and directed by Stephen Buescher. Midwestern Metropolis during the Great Depression is severely segregated. If you're from 'The Spread' you are trying to survive another eviction notice, soup line, or night on the street. If you're from the segregated Black area called 'The Zoo' you are literally fighting for your life. The bodies of Black women are turning up dead all over the city. It's not even safe to stay inside. Christina Anderson's play Man in Love is about race, love, and terror, all living side by side.

Davis Shakespeare Festival (DSF) is closing out their 2019 season with Comedy of Errors, one of Shakespeare's earliest and shortest works. This adaptation was born of a project by the Oregon Shakespeare Festival called Play On Shakespeare in which playwrights are challenged with making the Bard's works relatable to a wider audience by modernizing the language and adding their own flair. Playwright Christina Anderson has succeeded in bringing a fresh and vital version of this work to life and the artists at DSF have personalized it more by introducing some gender switching in a funky 70s setting.

Sideshow Theatre Company announce sits 2019-20 Season, launching this fall with the U.S. premiere of Alistair McDowall's mind-bending sci-fi thriller X, directed by artistic director Jonathan L. Green. The season concludes next spring with the world premiere of Brynne Frauenhoffer's brash, incisive comedy PRO-AM, directed by artistic associate Regina Victor.

The Oregon Shakespeare Festival will open How To Catch Creation, helmed by Incoming Artistic Director Nataki Garrett in her OSF directorial debut, on July 27 in the Thomas Theatre. Preview performances are July 23, 25 and 26, and the play runs through Oct. 26, 2019.
