While I've seen BLUE MAN GROUP live and on DVD, they're always tweaking their act so that it's a new experience each time you see them perform. Oh, they're smart enough to keep some of the old gags so that they remain familiar (the camera tour down an audience member's throat, the snarky message board, the interesting instruments),but there's enough current material added so that the group is consistently engaging no matter when you see them. The current production playing the Fox Theatre (through December 2, 2012) is a great evening's entertainment, and seeing it with my seven year old son in tow made it even more special.
Celebrating 40 years since it first opened in London's West End, the Jesus Christ Superstar arena tour opened 21 September, 2012, at the O2 Arena in London and went on to visit Glasgow, Newcastle, Manchester, Cardiff, Birmingham, Belfast, Dublin, Liverpool and Nottingham. The tour culminates in Sheffield tomorrow, 21 October. Let's see what the critics had to say throughout the tour!

KILLER JOE is a killer show! I only regret not being able to see this show until I'd returned from my vacation, effectively eliminating my chance to laud the show properly in order to drive an audience to it. My sincerest apologies, because I'm a fan of playwright Tracy Letts, and, not having seen this show before, I was unprepared for its sheer rawness. It's a hilarious pulpy send-up on the classic idea of hiring a hitman to off someone in order to benefit monetarily from the situation, and the St. Louis Actors' Studio have outdone themselves with an excellent rendering of this early work. The direction and acting of the entire ensemble is fearless and superb.
Arden Playhouse presents Soap Solution, a comedy in two acts by Michael Messmer. Messmer has written over thirty plays and has seen many of them produced at Arden Playhouse. He is also the director of Soap Solution and has incorporated elements of melodrama, bedroom farce, and vaudeville to craft Soap Solution into a wildly hilarious and zany romp.
