- Aug 28, 2013
The Board of Directors of the Delaware County Symphony (DCS) is pleased to announce the appointment of Madeline Bell to their Executive Board. Ms. Bell accepted the appointment and expressed her appreciation by saying, “In challenging times like the present, classical music provides a powerful experience to the most noble attributes of our individual and social values—all that is best in people”. She added ,”Although classical music is our symphony's joy it is worth remembering that it is a temporal art. It lives and breathes in real time. Unlike a painting in a museum where you can see it today and then return in a month and see the same painting, in classical music however it lives only during a performance and then it is gone. With this in mind my practicing, rehearsing and performing are my constant passion that I bring to the DCS. I look sincerely forward to serving the symphony and classical music in my new role with the board”.
