Cincinnati Shakespeare Company concludes its 2015-2016 season with a two-part theatrical event, pairing Shakespeare's Roman plays 'Julius Caesar' (April 8- May 7) and 'Antony and Cleopatra' (May 13- June 4) back to back. Artistic Associate Sara Clark directs 'Julius Caesar' and Producing Artistic Director Brian Isaac Phillips directs 'Antony and Cleopatra'. These productions feature Cincinnati Shakespeare's Resident Ensemble members including Jim Hopkins as Julius Caesar, Nick Rose as Marc Antony, and introducing Chantal Jean-Pierre as Cleopatra. Crossroads Theatre Company is taking part this week in 'Every 28 Hours,' an examination of black lives in America through drama with a focus on last year's events in Ferguson, Mo. The weeklong event in St. Louis is a collaborative project of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival (OSF) and the One-Minute Play Festival. Its title refers to a widely shared statistic: Every 28 hours in America, a black person is killed by police.

On Monday, May 13 Theatre Communications Group (TCG), the national organization for Theatre honored Ruth and Stephen Hendel and Ming Cho Lee at their Gala Evening. The evening was held at the Angel Orensanz Foundation (172 Norfolk Street) in New York City, cocktails started at 6pm and dinner started at 7pm. Jessica Hecht was the emcee of the evening; the Gala co-chairs were playwright Lydia R. Diamond and interior designer Jasmine M. Keller. The Gala honorary chairs were Anne Kaufman, Obie award-winning director; Nelle Nugent, Broadway producer; Judith O. Rubin, chairman of the board of Playwrights Horizons; and Liz Smith, gossip columnist. The event hosted 200 guests and surpassed its financial goal. Scroll down for photos from the gala!
