The Primary Stages' 2015 Gala took place tonight, November 16, 2015 at 583 Park Avenue. The event celebrated the company and honored Tony and Grammy-winning composer and lyricists Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman.

Primary Stages (Casey Childs, Founder & Executive Producer; Andrew Leynse, Artistic Director) has announced that their annual Gala will take place Monday, November 16, 2015 at 583 Park Avenue. The event will celebrate the company and honor Tony and Grammy-winning composer and lyricists Marc Shaiman andScott Wittman. The evening will feature musical numbers from Hairspray, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,Catch Me If You Can, and the TV show 'Smash' with presenters and performers including Obie winnerBridget Everett (Rock Bottom, Jukebox Jackie), Ana Gasteyer (Wicked, 'Saturday Night Live'), Annie Golden (Violet, 'Orange is the New Black'), emcee Jackie Hoffman (Hairspray, On the Town), Tony winnerNathan Lane (The Producers, Dedication or the Stuff of Dreams at Primary Stages), Caissie Levy (Les Miserables, Ghost, Murder Ballad), Aaron Tveit (Catch Me If You Can, Next to Normal, Grease! LIVE), Marc Shaiman (performing a number from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory), and other surprise guests.

Primary Stages, in association with Amy Danis, Mark Johannes, and Dan Shaheen, presents PERFECT ARRANGEMENT, a New York premiere by Topher Payne (Swell Party, The Only Light in Reno) and directed by Michael Barakiva (White People). The limited engagement runs now through November 6, 2015 at Primary Stages at The Duke on 42nd Street - a New 42nd Street project.

Legendary Broadway producer, manager and agent Samuel 'Biff' Liff passed away yesterday, August 10, at his home in Westchester County, NY. He was 96. Biff was Broadway icon Chita Rivera's longtime agent at William Morris. Read her statement about Biff below...

Legendary Broadway producer, manager and agent Samuel 'Biff' Liff passed away yesterday, August 10, at his home in Westchester County, NY. He was 96. Liff's longtime friend Emanuel Azenberg, confirmed the news to Deadline this afternoon.

 Tina Benko (Broadway's Irena's Vow, Top Girls, The Real Thing) joins Pun Bandhu (Wit, The Judge), Jesse J. Perez (Recent Tragic Events, American Splendor), DeLanna Studi (August: Osage County, Edge of America), and Myra Lucretia Taylor (Nine, 'Girls') in Primary Stages and Ensemble Studio Theatre/Alfred P. Sloan Foundation Project's upcoming production, Informed Consent. The New York City premiere by Deborah Zoe Laufer (End Days, Leveling Up) and directed by Obie winner Liesl Tommy(Appropriate, The Good Negro) will play a limited engagement August 4 - September 13, 2015 at Primary Stages at The Duke on 42nd Street - a New 42nd Street project. Opening night is Tuesday, August 18 at 7PM.

Primary Stages presents, 'A Celebration of Elizabeth Wilson,' a memorial tribute to the Tony Award winning actress and Theatre Hall of Fame honoree, on Monday, June 29 at 2PM at NYU Skriball Center for the Performing Arts located at 566 LaGuardia Place.  Cherry Jones, John Glover, Reed Birney, A.R. Gurney, Joyce Van Patten, Fritz Weaver, Casey Childs, Elizabeth Morton and other friends and colleagues will offer tributes.

Jamie deRoy came to Jim Caruso's Broadway at Birdland last night and Broadwayworld was there. In the world of show business everyone is always everyones friend. After 25 years of having enormously talented friends perform on her stages and loyal friends fill the seats at her shows, the consistency of participation points to the fact that most are real friends. Jamie's friends stick together. The hugs are real, the laughter is genuine, and the happy feeling everyone has after an episode of Jamie deRoy & friends always seems to linger in the air for many days after the show is over.  Such was the case of her latest entry in the series which always at this time of year features everything "TONY".

On March 10, Jeff Biehl (Poor Behavior, Machinal) joins the company of the new Primary Stages production, Lives of the Saints, currently playingat Primary Stages at The Duke on 42nd Street - a NEW 42ND STREET project through March 27, 2015. Joining current cast members Arnie Burton (Peter and the Starcatcher, The 39 Steps), Carson Elrod (All in the Timing, The Explorers Club), Kelly Hutchinson (Desire Under the Elms, Don Peyote) and Liv Rooth (All in the Timing, Venus in Fur), Biehl will assume the roles played by Rick Holmes who departs the production to begin rehearsals for The Visit on Broadway.

Primary Stages has launched the Primary Stages Off-Broadway Oral History Project, a new endeavor to capture the oral history of the New York Off-Broadway and Off-Off Broadway theatre movement through the first-hand accounts of the pioneers who created it.

Primary Stages in association with Susan Dietz, presents the world premiere of While I Yet Live by the Tony-winning star of Kinky Boots and Angels in America, Billy Porter, and directed by Tony Award nominee Sheryl Kaller.
