Performances of Les Miserables: The Staged Concert have been cancelled between 16 – 28 February 2021.

It's not clear as of this writing quite when live theatre will return in force, so in the interest of casting as wide a net as possible, what follows are five performances to whet the appetite, culled from offerings both online and, in due course, inside an actual playhouse.

Last year, Michael Ball recorded ‘Leaning on a Rainbow’ for the soundtrack to the new film ‘Blithe Spirit’. The full track is now available on Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon, and more.

As West End productions continue to make schedule adjustments due to the nation-wide lockdown, Andrew Lloyd Webber is sticking to the plan for his new adaptation of Cinderella. He told The Stage that plans remain in place for the new musical to open at the Gillian Lynne Theatre on Wednesday, May 19, 2021, with previews from Friday, April 30, 2021.

In the spirit of eternal optimism, here is a handful of London show titles promised for the year ahead that have us giddy with anticipation to be in a playhouse once again.

Just yesterday, it was announced that Ivano Turco has joined the cast of Andrew Lloyd Webber's production of Cinderella, opening on the West End next year! Turco will take on the role of Prince Sebastian.

Performances began on 5 December 2020 for Les Misérables -The Staged Concert at the Sondheim Theatre with the run - which has been extended twice - now concluding on 28 February 2021.

Recorded live at the Gielgud Theatre last year with an all-star cast including Michael Ball as Javert, Alfie Boe as Jean Valjean, Carrie Hope Fletcher as Fantine, Matt Lucas as Thénardier, Rob Houchen as Marius, Bradley Jaden as Enjolras, Katy Secombe as Madame Thénardier, Shan Ako as Eponine and Lily Kerhoas as Cosette and an orchestra of over 65.

The DVD is now available for home audiences to enjoy but ahead of the live cast recording release, we caught up with the concert's Marius, Rob Houchen.
