When Ellen Rowe was a young girl growing up in Ridgefield, Connecticut, there weren't many women making jazz music.   Through her success as a world-renowned jazz pianist, composer and pedagogue, she's spent the better part of the last 35 years trying to change that.

Sarah Frankcom, Royal Exchange Artistic Director, creates a brand-new version of Broadway's biggest musical WEST SIDE STORY for the Royal Exchange Theatre's unique in-the-round stage. Celebrated for her reinterpretations of American classics, A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE, DEATH OF A SALESMAN and her award-winning production OUR TOWN, she brings a new focus to the gang culture of the iconic Sharks and Jets with new choreography from Aletta Collins and orchestration by Jason Carr. The production runs in the Theatre from 6 April - 25 May.

Sony/ATV Music Publishing has signed the catalogues of British music greats Billy Ocean and Slade among a series of new deals with legacy songwriters and artists.

The John W. Engeman Theater announces the cast and creative team for A GENTLEMAN'S GUIDE TO LOVE AND MURDER. Performances begin on Thursday, March 14 and run through Sunday, April 28, 2019.

The NYU Tisch School of the Arts' Department of Drama and live entertainment advertising agency Serino Coyne are proud to announce they have teamed up to create the Women's Mentorship Program, an initiative that pairs female-identifying students interested in arts management with some of New York's top female cultural leaders.

Rock & Roll Hall of Fame member and world-renowned Nashville-based keyboardist Reese Wynans recently announced his first-ever solo albumSweet Release, a collection of songs honoring a paramount selection of blues-rock legends. The long anticipated album comes following a career that's spanned over 50 years and literally hundreds of historical collaborations. Along with the announcement came the first single 'Crossfire', a tribute to the legacy of Stevie Ray Vaughan and Wynans' work with Double Trouble, featuring the iconic Sam Moore of Sam & Dave on vocals. Today, Wynans shares the video for 'Crossfire' with behind-the-scenes footage from the studio recordings. The Broadway League announced today that 15 Times Square area restaurants will be participating in the 23rd Kids' Night on Broadway, taking place Tuesday, February 26, 2019. Each eatery will offer specials for Kids' Night on Broadway ticket-holders, including free entrees for young theatregoers.

The 2018-19 Hoff-Barthelson Music School Faculty Concert Series concludes on Friday, March 8, 2019, at 7:30 pm with "Women Composers Over the Centuries" in recognition of Women's History Month. The concert takes place at the School, 25 School Lane, Scarsdale.
