The Manhattan Association of Cabarets & Clubs celebrated the 23rd Annual MAC Awards on Monday, May 18th at 7:30pm at B.B. King Blues Club (237 West 42nd St, Between Broadway 8th Avenue).

This year's performers/presenters include Polly Bergen (Recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award), Klea Blackhurst, Tyne Daly, Karen Mason, Marilyn Maye, John McDaniel, Rex Reed, Steve Ross, and Julie Wilson among others.

Award-winning composer/lyricist, CAROL HALL, will perform as the Special Guest Artist at the 2009 Boston Association of Cabaret Artists (BACA) 'CABARET SONGWRITERS SHOWCASE' on Saturday, May 2nd at 7:00pm at Deane Hall in the Calderwood Pavillion (527 Tremont Street - at the Boston Center for the Arts).

Country music star, CMA Winner, ACM Winner and four-time Grammy Nominee Joe Nichols has been offered the role made famous by George Strait in the Broadway production of the hit movie, Pure Country. According to producer Randall L. Wreghitt, the musical is in the process of securing the remainder of its financing and casting, and plans to open in early 2010.

CAROL HALL'S 'HALLWAYS: The Songs of Carol Hall' WINS 2009 BISTRO AWARDS'ASCAP AWARD FOR OUSTANDING CD The 2009 BISTRO AWARDS have been announced. This year's ASCAP Award for Outstanding CD has been given to composer/lyricist CAROL HALL'S 'HALLWAYS, The songs of Carol Hall' which LML Music released nationally in stores and online at iTunes and Amazon.com on March 11th, 2008.

Back Stage Magazine has announced the winners of its Back Stage Bistro Awards which honor excellence in the world of cabaret. The award ceremony will take place on Tuesday, April 28 at the Gotham Comedy Club.

The YORK THEATRE COMPANY (James Morgan, Producing Artistic Director) is presenting the return engagement of its acclaimed production of ENTER LAUGHING: THE MUSICAL. Performances began January 21st, with an official opening night that was celebrated on January 29th. The return engagement runs until March 8th only; all performances will be at the company's home at The Theatre at Saint Peter's (Lexington Avenue just south of 54th Street).
