TheatreWorks, the nationally-acclaimed theatre of Silicon Valley, has announced the line-up for its 2010-2011 season. Founding Artistic Director Robert Kelley and Managing Director Phil Santora announced a 41st season that will include three world premieres (bringing the company's total to 56); three regional premieres including the newest play by the author of AUGUST: OSAGE COUNTY, Broadway's quirky hit musical about writers writing a quirky hit musical and a spell-binding mystery about a Japanese-American veteran charged with murder; and two Broadway favorites. The company will once again lead off with an extensive New Works Festival.

NYC Parks & Rec Cut Ribbon on Robert Venable Park

Parks & Recreation Commissioner Adrian Benepe today joined City Council Member Charles Barron, President of the Patrolmen's Benevolent Association Pat Lynch, members of Police Officer Robert Venable's family, Pastor Carol Hall and Reverend Doughty to cut the ribbon on over $6 million in new amenities at Robert Venable Park in Brooklyn, part of a total $8 million restoration currently underway. The reconstruction creates a new 3 ½ acre park, creating a lush oasis where asphalt and weeds once existed.

Gordon's SYCAMORE TREES at Signature Closes 6/13

Previews will begin today at Virginia's Signature Theatre for the world premiere musical Sycamore Trees written by Ricky Ian Gordon, the award-winning composer of the opera The Grapes of Wrath and the musicals Dream True and My Life with Albertine. A starry Broadway cast portrays Gordon's own family story - complete with a tough Bronx-born father and former 'Borscht Belt' singer/comedian mother - in a tale of two generations' struggles and triumphs in the decades from World War II through the 1990s.
