Following a 2 month hiatus, The Dashwood Sisters are back from their spring holiday and regular performances will resume.
Producer Jacob Langfelder along with Diego Kolankowsky (Spring Awakening), AltaNeve wines and Marie Assante hosted a New Year's to remember at a luxe, two-story loft overlooking the Central Park fireworks. Guests were entertained to the early morning by performances from Tori Scott (Time Out Top 10 Cabaret Performers), Varsity Interpretive Dance Squad and Australian recording artist Brendan Maclean (Universal Music Group, Baz Luhrman's GREAT GATSBY, and VELVET). Red Bull Theater's Revelations Readings kicked off its new season with a gala benefit reading of WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE'S THE TEMPEST, featuring Michael Cerveris as Prospero. Directed by Jesse Berger the cast also included De'Adre Aziza, Gerry Bamman, Clifton Duncan,Angel Desai, Sean Patrick Doyle, Glenn Fleshler, Carman Lacivita, Drew Ledbetter, Matthew Rauch, Jay O. Sanders,Stephen Spinella, Raphael Nash Thompson, Auden Thornton,Michael Urie, Marc Vietor, and more. The Tempest featured original live music by Greg Pliska. It took place for one night only on October 20th at Playwrights Horizons, 416 West 42nd Street, between 9th and 10th Avenues. The Broadway Experience returned for a seventh summer program at Manhattan Movement & Arts Center from July 28th - August 10th. With over 20 professional educators from the Broadway community, TBE offered over 75 classes, workshops, lectures, a performance based second week and invited Jonathan Groff as guest speaker. Jonathan spoke about his life on and off the stage, and took the time to answer questions and offer advice and inspiration. He was even kind enough to give an impromptu performance from Disney's recent hit film, Frozen.
