Chelsea Table + Stage to Present Flamenco Artist Nélida Tirado

CHELSEA TABLE + STAGE has announced a special show from acclaimed Flamenco artist Nélida Tirado on Saturday, January 29 at 7:00 PM. Tirado will present a passionate and dynamic evening of traditional Flamenco music and dance through a contemporary lens, melding improvisation, emotion, “duende,” singing, and guitar playing.

The NY Dance and Performance Awards, The Bessies, New York City's premier dance awards honoring outstanding creative work in the field, celebrates a landmark 35th anniversary this year. Today, the nominees for the 2019 Bessie Awards, along with the recipients of the 2019 Juried Bessie Award and 2019 Outstanding Breakout Choreographer Award, were announced and celebrated at the Bessies press conference. Flamenco Meets Colombia At ENCUENTRO NYC Colombian Music Festival

ENCUENTRO NYC Colombian Music Festival, founded by musicians Pablo Mayor and Anna Povich de Mayor is back with Encuentro Underground- Roots, Part 1: An exploration into the Spanish roots of Colombian music, Saturday, November 17, 7pm and 9pm.  Celebrating its 14th anniversary, the Festival has found a new home in ID Studio, one of NYC's newest and most vibrant artistic centers in the South Bronx (311 E. 140th St., two blocks from the 6 train). This concert is also part of Latin American Culture Week.

Flamenco Vivo Carlota Santana Announces 35th Anniversary Season

Flamenco Vivo Carlota Santana celebrates its 35th anniversary season with a program of new works featuring the New York premiere of Mujeres Valientes by internationally renowned flamenco artist Belén Maya and dances by three up-and-coming choreographers from Spain: Emilio Ochando, José Maldonado, and Guadalupe Torres. Performances are May 15–20, 2018 (Tuesday through Saturday evening at 7:30pm, with matinees on Saturday and Sunday at 2pm), at BAM Fisher, 321 Ashland Place, Brooklyn, NY.

Flamenco Powerhouse Leilah Broukhim Brings LA Debut of DEJANDO HUELLAS (TRACES) to The Soraya

After her wildly popular 2015 debut, flamenco dance dynamo Leilah Broukhim returns to The Younes and Soraya Nazarian Center for the Performing Arts (formerly Valley Performing Arts Center) with Dejando Huellas (Traces), a personal story about her own Jewish and Persian heritage. Broukhim's furious flamenco footwork exalts the Spanish art form, while her emotional expression tells the tale of a woman searching for meaning and identity. Dejando Huellas makes its LA debut after performances in Paris, New York, Madrid, and Copenhagen.
