Music Academy of the West announced the 2024-25 Mariposa Concert Series, featuring intimate performances by world-renowned musicians and alums.

To celebrate the announcement, BryhM has also released the single “Deep Blue”- a funky meditative strut featuring electric sitar. The album was produced by Hornsby and Rob Moose and recorded in both Williamsburg, VA and in New York, NY. It features additional contributions from jazz legend Branford Marsalis, Mark Dover and drummer Chad Wright.

Norah Jones and yMusic(Alex Sopp, flute; Mark Dover, clarinet; CJ Camerieri, trumpet; Rob Moose, violin; Nadia Sirota, viola; and Andrew Janss, cello) will appear as special guest artists this Wednesday, January 10 at The Energy Curfew Music Hour.

Award-winning vocalist Celia Berk releases her Holiday EP, 'Holiday Spirit: 3 Songs of Joy, Wonder and Hope.' The album includes three songs recorded during the pandemic and is available for streaming on Amazon Music, Apple Music, Pandora, and Spotify.

The tour will kick-off in Urbana, IL at Foellinger Auditorium and will make stops across performing arts complexes in Kansas City, MO on March 14, San Francisco, CA on April 5, Thousand Oaks, CA on April 10 and wrap in Denver on April 23. “DON’T KID YOURSELF KID” is from Heavy MakeUp’s self-titled debut album, which was released last month viaShuffle Records/Thirty Tigers. In celebration of the new music, the group is in the midst of a four-show residency at Los Angeles’ Sun Rose with their next performance taking place tomorrow featuring guest Charlie Sexton. Heavy MakeUp—the dynamic new project from Edie Brickell, CJ Camerieri and Trever Hagen—will perform four shows at Los Angeles’ Sun Rose next month on October 4, 11, 18 and 25. Each show will consist of two distinct sets—the first will feature songs from their self-titled debut album, while the second will be a purely improvised performance.

Written and produced by the trio, Heavy MakeUp features 11 tracks including lead single, “ALL THE TIME,” which debuted earlier this summer. Filled with sonic exploration, the record captures the artists’ improvisational spirit and shared curiosities through voice, synths, drum machines and brass.

The album is their first official project as a collective, after initially discovering their musical chemistry when collaborating on 2022’s “More and More,” released by Camerieri and Hagen’s project, CARM. Following that experience, Brickell, Camerieri and Hagen were inspired to further explore their shared creativity and spent three days together.

Pieta Brown and drummer and producer JT Bates (Bonny Light Horseman, Big Red Machine, Taylor Swift) have teamed up for a new pair of singles titled “In This World” and “Thing or 2.” The tracks were mixed by Tucker Martine (Madison Cunningham, Calexico, My Morning Jacket) and mastered by Huntley Miller (The Cactus Blossoms, Sylvan Esso, Bon Iver).

On Thursday, January 19, 2023 at 7:30pm in Zankel Hall at Carnegie Hall, yMusic will perform the world premiere of Allison Loggins-Hull's Supply, inspired by addictive relationships, and the New York premiere of former Carnegie Hall Debs Composer's Chair (2020/2021) Andrew Norman's Difference, both co-commissioned by Carnegie Hall.
