At the Wedding is a comedy with tragedy sprinkled in like celebratory confetti that proves difficult to clean up once dispersed. It tries to squeeze in a lot of different ideas, tones, and resonances into barely over an hour. Not all of it lands, but there are seriously funny moments mixed in with the ones that fall flat–and in a story about messy resilience, the unevenness sometimes works.

Bishop has served as Producing Artistic Director of Lincoln Center Theater since July 2013, and first joined the organization as Artistic Director in January 1992.  His departure in June 2025 will coincide with the close of Lincoln Center Theater’s 40th anniversary season.

Tonight Starring, will continue with a unique staged reading of Bull in a China Shop, written by Bryna Turner. This staged reading will feature local actors Lindsey Ahern, Selena Bender, Sunny Crejo, Iris Garcia, and Kate Pratt. The play’s director is Sarah Barbelusco-Lamb. This cast was recently featured in Big Idea Theatre’s production of Collective Rage – A Story of 5 Betties.

WP THEATER has announced the fifteen artists selected for the 2022-2024 WP Lab. The two-year residency begins now, and culminates with the biennial WP Pipeline Festival in 2024.

Samuel French’s Off Off Broadway Short Play Festival has announced that Joshua Harmon is this year’s honorary festival playwright. This year’s top 30 playwrights were chosen from over 650 submissions around the world. They will present their plays during a week-long festival August 16-20 at the Peter Jay Sharp Theater in New York City.

Lincoln Center Theater/LCT3’s production of AT THE WEDDING, a new play by Bryna Turner, directed by Jenna Worsham, returns tonight after a brief hiatus. The production will play an extended week of performances beginning tonight, Wednesday, May 18 at 7pm and run through this Sunday, May 23 at 7pm at the Claire Tow Theater (150 West 65 Street).
