Bay Street Theater and Sag Harbor Center for the Arts is pleased to announce a successful opening night for FROST/NIXON, a play by Peter Morgan, directed by Sarna Lapine. The show was met with a standing ovation. Notable in attendance were Mercedes Ruehl, Judy Carmichael and Jules Feiffer.  FROST/NIXON runs through July 22. Bay Street Theatre presented its Second Annual Steinbeck Festival in Sag Harbor on May 1-4, 2014, in conjunction with the annual celebration held by the National Steinbeck Center based in Salinas, California. Activities to honor John Steinbeck's contributions to our community featured events including thre days of films, a VIP waterfront cocktail party where guests enjoyed short boat excursions to view Steinbeck's home from the water, and the Second Annual 'Travels with Charley' Dog Walk, in partnership with the Southampton Animal Shelter Foundation. Bay Street Theatre has announced that Scott Schwartz, a leading voice of the next generation of American theater, has joined Bay Street as its new Artistic Director. A special welcome party was hosted last evening by Bonnie Comley and Stewart Lane at a private club in New York City to celebrate his arrival and to introduce him to Bay Street Theatre patrons and members of the Broadway community of actors, directors and producers. Bay Street Theatre and its hosts Erik Batt, Randy Hemming, Bruce T. Sloane, Joe Maio (from Adornments in Sag Harbor) & Eric Lemonides (from Almond Restaurant) are inviting everyone to their Hampton's Pride Dance Parties June 22, July 27 and August 31.
