Tickets are now on sale for the 2016 TRU Love Benefit, Embracing the Unlimited: A Celebration of Inclusion in the Arts, now being co-hosted by film/TV/theater star Joe Morton, Emmy Award winner for Scandal, fondly remembered for TV's Eureka and the acclaimed off-Broadway's Turn Me Loose. He joins Tony nominated Valisia LeKae (Motown the Musical) and previously announced performers, including Jay Armstrong Johnson and Tony winner Tonya Pinkins.

Breaking News: THE COLOR PURPLE Will Play Final Broadway Performance in January; National Tour to Launch Next Fall

The Tony Award-winning revival of THE COLOR PURPLE will play its final performance on Broadway on Sunday, January 8, 2017. Upon closing, the production will have played 449 regular and 33 preview performances at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre (242 W 45th Street). A North American tour of the production will launch in the fall of 2017.

There are a lot of changes from the Wonderland we all know and love. The Cheshire Cat becomes Cat Daddy and the Queen of Hearts is an evil Drag Queen searching for soul. Alice is redrawn from a curious and imaginative girl who has to make her way through a series of bizarre obstacles, to a woman who has to do the same thing just to be reminded that life is a Wonderland, and singing your blues can sometimes be the very thing that sets you free.

Cast members from the Tony-nominated revival of The Color Purple made their way to The Laurie Beechman Theatre on Thursday evening for Broadway Sessions. It became clear pretty darn quick that we were no longer in a theater- we were at CHURCH! These cats can sing like nobody's business. And that's just what they did. They SANG!!! Cast members Rema Webb, Antoine L. Smith, J. Daughtry, Adrianna Hicks, Bre Jackson, Phoenix Best, Akron Watson and Carla R. Stewart were greeted with standing ovation after standing ovation. The cast also shared insights into their audition experiences, told us their favorite 'audience reactions', played a round of 'The Color Purple Pyramid' and joined their voices together for an unforgettable group performance of the show's 11 o'clock number, 'I'm Here.'
