Native Earth Announces WEESAGEECHAK 29 Line-Up

Native Earth Performing Arts has announced the line-up for their 29th annual festival of Indigenous work, Weesageechak Begins to Dance. From intimate relationships to dystopian futures, comedy, dance, poetry and everything in between, Weesageechak 29 will showcase new Indigenous works in Native Earth's Aki Studio from November 9th to 19th, 2016.

Jackalope to Welcome Cor Theatre for Pioneer Series This Spring

Jackalope Theatre Company is proud to announce that it has selected Cor Theatre for participation in The Pioneer Series. The Pioneer Series is Jackalope's continuous initiative to cultivate bold new theatre in Chicago. Through an extensive application process, Jackalope selected Cor Theatre to receive a free primetime 4-week run in The Frontier, at 1106 W Thorndale in Chicago, in the spring of 2016.

Jason Kravits Returning to Host 2015 IT Awards

The New York Innovative Theatre Foundation, the organization who for the past 11 years has been dedicated to celebrating Off-Off-Broadway, will present 26 awards for outstanding achievement in theatre at the 11th Annual New York innovative Theatre Awards Ceremony, Mason Hall at Baruch Performing Arts Center, 17 Lexington Avenue. 

Saint Michael's Playhouse Opens WOODY GUTHRIE'S AMERICAN SONG Tonight

Producing Artistic Director Chuck Tobin previously announced the opening Woody Guthrie's American Song, an exuberant musical celebration of America, running evenings at 8 p.m. tonight, July 29, and August 1, 4 - 8 and matinees at 2 p.m. on August 1 & 8, 2015.

The FRIDAY FIVE (on Monday?): TUNA's Asa Ambrister & Patrick Goedicke

Today, we train our spotlight on Asa Ambrister and Patrick Goedicke, the two versatile actors who bring the whole town of Tuna, Texas, to life in Red, White And Tuna, the latest incarnation of the Tuna cycle at Miss Jeanne's Dinner Theatre. The show opened Friday night and continues through July 12…so here's your opportunity to get to know Asa and Patrick and then make reservations to see their wacky characters before the show's run ends.

LOVE AND HUMAN REMAINS is an edgy, provocative, dark-humored drama about the intertwined lives of seven individuals. The play explores every aspect of raw human emotion and takes the audience on an emotional journey to places often hard to explore. It centers on David McMillan, a former actor/current waiter watching his twenties tick away. Together, with his book-reviewing roommate Candy, his best friend Bernie, and S/M prostitute friend Benita, David encounters a number of seductive strangers on their search for love and sex. However, the games turn ugly when it appears one of them might be a serial killer.
