Jason Kravits Returning to Host 2015 IT Awards

The New York Innovative Theatre Foundation, the organization who for the past 11 years has been dedicated to celebrating Off-Off-Broadway, will present 26 awards for outstanding achievement in theatre at the 11th Annual New York innovative Theatre Awards Ceremony, Mason Hall at Baruch Performing Arts Center, 17 Lexington Avenue.

The ceremony will once again be hosted by a crowd favorite, Jason Kravits and directed by an Off-Off-Broadway mainstay, Tim Errickson.

The 2015 recipients will be awarded from a pool of 145 individual nominees, 57 productions and 55 theatre companies. In the past 11 years, the IT Awards have honored nearly 2,000 artists, 550 productions and 500 companies.

Tim Errickson (Director) is the Artistic Director of Boomerang Theatre Company. Previous Boomerang credits include directing production of Candida, Hamlet,Fenway Burning The Old Man (6 NYIT Nominations, including Outstanding Direction), Stoppard Goes Electric, Much Ado about Nothing and As You Like It. Other recent directing credits include Donkey by John Patrick Bray (13 Planet Connections Nominations) and Green Light by Angela C. Davis (NYIT Nomination for Outstanding Short Play) for Rising Sun Performance Company, The Desk Set for Retro Productions (6 NYIT Nominations including Outstanding Production), Brad Fraser's Unidentified Human Remains and the True Nature of Love, Racine's Phaedre, Jamie Pachino's Famous for Fifteen Years, Michael Weller's Moonchildren (OOBR Award for Outstanding Production) and Brian Smallwood's The Wedding Play.

During his time as Artistic Director of Boomerang, Tim has produced 55 full productions (including 18 outdoor Shakespeare productions) and produced development workshops and readings for over 60 new plays. Boomerang was awarded the 2008 Caffe Cino Fellowship for Excellence in Off-Off-Broadway, and has reinvented the rotating repertory model for the Off-Off/Indie theatre. In addition to Boomerang, Tim has been on staff at Lincoln Center Theater and New Dramatists.

Jason Kravits (Host) is best known for his role as ADA Richard Bay on ABC's Emmy Award Winning DramaThe Practice, as well as more recent roles on Royal Pains, Curb YourEnthusiasm, 30-Rock, and Are We There Yet. He's also recently appeared in movies such asMorning Glory, and The Adjustment Bureau. Other TV roles includeGrey's Anatomy, Sherri, Friends, Ed, Gilmore Girls, Yes, Dear, Ed, Becker, CSI, According to Jim, Gravity, and Law and Order (SVU, CI and Original Recipe).Other movie roles include, The Stepford Wives, Sweet November, What JustHappened, and See You In September. Jason appeared on Broadway in Relatively Speaking, an evening of three new one-act plays written by Ethan Coen, Elaine Mayand Woody Allen. He also appeared on Broadway in the Tony Award winning The Drowsy Chaperone,and Sly Fox, as well as the late night comedy "Don't Quit Your NightJob." Jason co-founded the off-broadway hit Rumble in the Redroom, which ran for 4 years. It was there that he developed the material for the award-winning sketch comedy show, Making Faces with Kravits and Jones, which took home the jury award at the U.S. Comedy Festival in Aspen, CO. He is also the creator of the internet comedy series, Lords of the Playground.
