Roundabout Theatre Company has just announced full casting for the world premiere of 72 Miles to Go..., by Hilary Bettis, directed by Jo Bonney.

Playing on Air's Fall 2019 podcast season will begin this weekend with a special re-release of Jesse Eisenberg's short play A LITTLE PART OF ALL OF US, starring the playwright and Justin Bartha (The Hangover trilogy, a?oeThe Good Fighta??). The season will also feature Sean Carvajal (King Lear) and Bobby Moreno (a?oeHomelanda??) in 3:59AM: A DRAG RACE FOR TWO ACTORS by Marco Ramirez, as well as a live recording of Jacquelyn Reingold's 2B OR NOT 2B with William Jackson Harper (a?oeThe Good Place,a?? Play On Shakespeare today announces an expansive list of compelling actors and dynamic directors confirmed to participate in the Play on! Festival, presented in association with Classic Stage Company (CSC) and Oregon Shakespeare Festival (OSF). Play on! features 39 readings of new, work-in-progress translations of Shakespeare's plays into contemporary modern English by some of today's most exciting playwrights-May 29-June 30 at the Lynn F. Angelson Theater at CSC (136 E. 13th Street). In 2015, Oregon Shakespeare Festival launched an ambitious 39-play, three-year commissioning project, Play on!, tasking 36 playwrights-more than half of whom were women and playwrights of color, each paired with a dramaturg-to translate Shakespeare's canon in celebration of the enduring impact of the Bard's work. Supported by a generous grant from the Hitz Foundation and inspired by long-time patron Dave Hitz's passion for Shakespeare, the project was and continues to be led by Lue Morgan Douthit. ENSEMBLE STUDIO THEATRE (EST) (William Carden, Artistic Director, Sarah McLellan, Executive Director) is proud to announce its 50th Anniversary season. The season will commence in October 2018 with the world premiere of TRAVISVILLE a new play by William Jackson Harper ("The Good Place") and directed by Steve H. Broadnax III (The Hip-Hop Project). This marks the playwriting debut of Harper, who has been developing the piece with EST over the past 8 years.

Actors' Equity Association, the union which represents more than 51,000 professional stage actors and stage managers, announced the results of the 2018 National Council election.  In total, 55 Council seats across all three regions and representing three (3) categories (principal actor, chorus actor and stage manager) were filled, effective immediately.

Sloan Foundation (Doron Weber, Vice-President, Programs) announced today the full cast and creative team for the World Premiere of BUMP, written by Chiara Atik (Five Times in One Night) and directed by Claudia Weill(Girlfriends). Part of the EST/Sloan Science & Technology Project (Graeme Gillis, Program Director; Linsay Firman, Associate Director), BUMP begins previews at EST's Curt Dempster Theatre (549 W. 52nd Street, New York, NY 10019) on May 9, 2018, with an opening night set for May 17, for a limited run through June 4, 2018.

ESPERANCE THEATER COMPANY is pleased to present the world premiere production of BREITWISCH FARM, a new play inspired by Chekhov's The Cherry Orchard, written by Jeremy J. Kamps, and directed by Ryan Quinn. BREITWISCH FARM will play a three-week limited engagement at Town Stages (221 West Broadway, New York, NY 10013). The play is written by Marc Bovino, Joe Curnutte, Michael Dalto, Lila Neugebauer and Stephanie Wright Thompson; in collaboration with Sarah Lunnie and the creative ensemble of Amy Staats and Stacey Yen. Directed by Lila Neugebauer, this new limited engagement at Playwrights Horizons marks the production's Off-Broadway debut.
