The Broadway League announces more about the special event scheduled to take place on Friday, September 9, 2011 at 4:00pm in Duffy Square when the Broadway community will mark the tenth anniversary of 9/11. This event will encore the iconic performance that took place one decade ago when Broadway performers helped inspire New Yorkers to return to normalcy with a landmark outdoor performance.

Yesterday, September 14, Tony Award winner Richard Easton, Tony nominee Andre De Shields, Tony nominee Dana Ivey, Tony nominee Laurence Luckinbill, Marni Nixon and more joined special guests New York City Council Speaker Christine Quinn and Katherine Oliver, Commissioner for the NYC Mayor's Office of Media and Entertainment, for the second-annual Broadway Salutes, a unique public celebration honoring the myriad of professionals who have made Broadway great for decades - with special recognition for those individuals who have worked 25, 35 and 50 years in their respective theatrical craft. Nederlander, Chairman of The Nederlander Organization, with the second Schoenfeld Vision for Arts in Education Award during a gala benefit held May 17 in the Broadway Ballroom of the Marriott Marquis Hotel.
