Tony Nominee Alison Fraser Joins Actors Fund Concerts Honoring Barbara Siegel on Jan. 27

In an unprecedented outpouring of support by performers, a second show had to be added to accommodate the number of stars that wanted to sing in honor of Barbara Siegel's contributions to the theater as first an Outer Critics Circle Nominator and then a Drama Desk Nominator (the latter, 18 years, 12 of those as chairperson of the Drama Desk Nominating Committee).

BWW Review: SONGBIRD at 59E59 is a True Gem

See 'Songbird,' a gem of a show, now at 59E59 through November 29th. It is written by Michael Kimmel, directed by JV Mercanti with original music and lyrics by Lauren Prichard. Based on 'The Seagull' by Anton Chekhov, it is set in Tennessee and features an excellent country music score.

SONGBIRD Set for 59E59 Theaters' 5A Season

59E59 Theaters (Elysabeth Kleinhans, Artistic Director; Peter Tear, Executive Producer; Brian Beirne, Managing Director) is thrilled to welcome SONGBIRD, written by Michael Kimmel, with music & lyrics by Lauren Pritchard, and directed by JV Mercanti. Produced by Allison Bressi and Diana Buckhantz by special association with Less Than Rent Theatre for the 5A Season, SONGBIRD begins performances on Tuesday, October 20 for a limited engagement through Sunday, November 29. Opening Night is Wednesday, October 28 at 7 PM. The performance schedule is Tuesday - Thursday at 7 PM; Friday at 8 PM; Saturday at 2 PM & 8 PM; and Sunday at 3 PM. Please note: there is an added performance on Sunday, October 25 at 7 PM; there is no performance on Thursday, November 26 in observance of Thanksgiving. Tickets are $70 ($49 for 59E59 Members). 54 Below to Celebrate Frank Sinatra Centennial This Month

This July, 54 Below celebrates The Frank Sinatra Birthday Centennial with three special musical events featuring some of the brightest stars from Broadway and cabaret including Tony Award nominees Tom Wopat and Bob Stillman, Bistro and MAC Award winner Jeff Harnar, Broadway's Sal Viviano, acclaimed jazz vocalist Erin McDougald and her quintet, and Holland Vavra with Anneliese van der Pol (Beauty and the Beast, Disney Channel's 'That's So Raven'), Tyce Green, Katie Rosen and Jared Zirilli in a recreation of Sinatra's legendary 1966 performance at the Sands Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.

Jessica Phillip Joins BC/EFA Benefit Featuring Music of U2 at Birdland, 3/16

Scott Siegel (Creator, Writer and Host of The Town Hall's Broadway By The Year series) and Maxine Linehan (Star of Beautiful Songs at the Metropolitan Room) are delighted to announce that Jessica Phillips (Leap of Faith, Priscilla Queen of the Desert), will join the previously announced cast of The Songs of U2, a star-studded St Patrick's Eve concert event to benefit BC/EFA. The one night only concert will take place on Monday, February 16th at Birdland Jazz Club in New York (315 W. 44th Street).
