Tom Wopat and Stephen Schwartz to Join BROADWAY AT MOORLAND, 6/5; Brian Stokes Mitchell Leaves Lineup

Tony Award nominee Tom Wopat and GRAMMY Award-winning Broadway songwriter Stephen Schwartz are joining the festivities in Broadway at Moorland, the 14th annual summer concert and fireworks display at Moorland Farm in Far Hills, NJ, a partnership between New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) and Far Hills Race Meeting Association. Wopat (Annie Get Your Gun, A Catered Affair) will join previously announced Tony-nominated and Emmy Award-winner Liz Callaway, the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra, five-time MAC-winning cabaret star Scott Coulter, Jessica Hendy (Broadway's Cats and Aida), and Kelli Rabke (Broadway's LES MISERABLES and in the Broadway revival of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat). Due to a scheduling conflict, Brian Stokes Mitchell will no longer perform on the bill.

A COUPLE OF BLAGUARDS to Play Harris Center, 4/24-27

Pulitzer Prize-winning author of Angela's Ashes, and bestseller Tis, Frank McCourt, and his brother Malachy, also a successful author, joined talents to write an autobiographical account of their years growing up in poverty in Ireland, A Couple of Blaguards. Though times were tough in Limerick, the tales spun by the brothers McCourt simmer with bittersweet recollections, ferocious humor and a parade of colorful characters from the priest who warns of sinners' eyeballs exploding in hell to the McCourt grandmother who spits on Franks unruly Presbyterian hair to tame it.

Franklin Performing Arts Company Presents Free Performances of JAZZ 4 KIDZ and OPERA FOR KIDS: DR. SEUSS, 3/2 & 3/23

Franklin Performing Arts Company's annual, free Family Concert Series continues this season with "Jazz 4 Kidz Featuring Mark Poniatowski and Friends" on Sunday, March 2 and "Opera for Kids: Dr. Seuss's Gertrude McFuzz and Green Eggs and Ham" on Sunday, March 23. An Evening Without the Catskills: A Brief History of Jewish Humor spans more than a century of Jewish humor with a script curated and written by 1812's Artistic Director, Jennifer Childs, and performances from Ms. Childs, Karen Getz, David Ingram, and Thomas E. Shotkin.

Sheldon Bull to Receive Abingdon's Christopher Brian Wolk Award, 12/16

Abingdon Theatre Company, in an ongoing effort to recognize excellence in playwriting, established the Christopher Brian Wolk Award to be presented annually to an American writer of a full-length play not produced in New York City. The award is based upon the writer's demonstrated ability to reach a mature artistic vision using theatre. Playwright Sheldon Bull will receive the $1,000 cash award and a staged reading of his script MALLORCA, directed by Donald Brenner (GREAT EXPECTATIONS), at the award ceremony, December 16, starting at 7:00PM in the June Havoc Theatre, 312 West 36th Street in Manhattan.

Santa Monica Playhouse Stages ASPIRIN & ELEPHANTS, Now thru 1/26

Opening tonight, November 9th, Santa Monica Playhouse's Silver Anniversary performance run of aspirin & ELEPHANTS from the acclaimed team of Playwright Jerry Mayer and Director Chris DeCarlo.
