VEZT, the company that lets fans share ownership with artists in their favorite songs, announced today the hiring of music mogul Andreas Carlsson as Chief Strategy Officer. Carlsson is known for his writing collaborations with a wide range of world famous musicians including Katy Perry, NSync, The Backstreet Boys, Britney Spears, Celine Dion and many more. Carlsson is an investor in, and advisor to, Soundtrap, which was sold to Spotify in 2017.

Yet beyond the glory of her singing, in a career filled with countless accolades, honors and major milestones, what has perhaps distinguished her most is her almost magical ability to create an unwavering bond with her audience. Returning to Seattle for the first time in two decades, the legendary opera star takes the stage at the University of Washington's Meany Hall on April 14, 2018, to explore traditional spirituals and the writings of Harriet Tubman and Frederick Douglass. She is joined by acclaimed jazz pianist Joel Martin and local choirs The Sound of the Northwest and UW Chamber Singers.

Local rock band Red Letter Day was chosen as a winner of the prestigious John Lennon Songwriting Contest (JLSC) for their original song, '202.' The John Lennon Educational Tour Bus announced that the winning band will perform at the 2018 National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) Show in Anaheim, California on Jan. 28.
