The New Group launches its 2013-2014 season with the New York premiere of the Geffen Playhouse production of The Jacksonian, by Pulitzer Prize winner Beth Henley. Directed by Tony Award winner Robert Falls, this production features Ed Harris, Glenne Headly, Amy Madigan, Bill Pullman and Juliet Brett. Previews began October 25. Official Opening Night takes place Thursday, November 7 at 7:00pm. Originally slated through December 15, this production plays a limited Off-Broadway engagement through December 22 at The New Group at Theatre Row. Check out a first look at the cast in action below!

Due to demand, The New Group has announced a one-week extension for The Jacksonian, by Pulitzer Prize winner Beth Henley. Originally set to play a limited Off-Broadway engagement through December 15, this production now plays through Sunday, December 22. Directed by Tony Award winner Robert Falls, this New York premiere features Ed Harris, Glenne Headly, Amy Madigan, Bill Pullman and Juliet Brett. Previews begin October 25 in advance of an Opening Night on November 7 at The New Group @ Theatre Row (The Acorn Theatre / 410 West 42nd Street).

He will be joined in this series of concerts by his band, The Shiny Liars, comprised of singer songwriter Lora-Faye Whelan, his former Once co-star and Tony nominee Elizabeth A. Davis, plus musicians Jordan Richard and Anthony Taddeo.

Chaz Bono is starring in the 30 Minutes Musicals (30MM) production of INDEPENDENCE DAY, which will have shows on June 18, 19, 23, 25, 26 and 30 at 8 p.m. in West Hollywood. Bono plays the president (the role of Bill Pullman in the film) in the production.

If you like your musicals short, fast-paced, funny, and smart enough to spoof the big guys while delivering a healthy dose of pure fun, this is the musical for you. Brooke Seguin's 30 MM: INDEPENDENCE DAY clocks in around 40 minutes, which is plenty of time to run the aliens out of town and save the planet in a manner that would do the Fresh Prince proud, especially if he got to do it with a rap.

The New Group launches its 2013-2014 Off-Broadway season with the New York premiere of Pulitzer Prize winner Beth Henley's The Jacksonian, arriving in Fall 2013. Directed by Tony Award winner Robert Falls, this production features Ed Harris, Glenne Headly, Amy Madigan and Bill Pullman. The Jacksonian was first produced at the Geffen Playhouse in 2012. In Winter 2014, as the second production in the company's season, The New Group delivers the world premiere of Thomas Bradshaw's Intimacy, directed by Scott Elliott. The third production of The New Group's upcoming season is to be announced.

National Geographic Channel (@NatGeoChannel) today announced that up-and-coming actor Will Rothhaar (@Poetiqrothhaar) has been cast as the volatile former Marine and assassin Lee Harvey Oswald in the upcoming two-hour original factual drama Killing Kennedy by Scott Free Productions. Rothhaar is the final of the four major players in the film to be announced, joining Rob Lowe (John F. Kennedy), Ginnifer Goodwin (Jacqueline Kennedy) and Michelle Trachtenberg (Marina Oswald).
Jenna Elfman to Replace Parker Posey in New NBC Comedy

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jenna Elfman is currently in discussions to take over the role of ex-wife 'Joyce Fisher' in the new NBC comedy THE FAMILY GUIDE. She would replace previously cast actress Parker Posey who left the project just one day after the network greenlit it to series.
